Andalucía stretches across 87,268 square kilometres of southern Spain, making it the country's largest autonomous community by area and home to eight distinct provinces. From the Sierra Nevada — mainland Spain's highest peak at 3,479 metres — to the 800-kilometre Atlantic and Mediterranean coastline, the landscape shifts dramatically within short distances. Seville to Granada is just 256 kilometres, yet the journey takes you from the flat Guadalquivir river basin into the foothills of one of Europe's most southerly mountain ranges. The Alhambra in Granada, the Mezquita-Catedral de Córdoba, and the Alcázar of Seville are all UNESCO-listed landmarks that draw millions of visitors each year. Further south, the Caminito del Rey walkway near Málaga and the white villages of the Ronda gorge offer unforgettable stops for those travelling by road. Andalucía's network of well-maintained A-roads and scenic secondary routes makes it ideal for exploring at your own pace in a campervan or motorhome. Distances between major cities are manageable — Málaga to Cádiz is around 260 kilometres along the coast — so you can cover a lot without long driving days. With Yescapa, you can hire directly from local owners across Andalucía, choosing from a wide range of vehicles that suit everything from a weekend coastal escape to a two-week tour of the interior.
Andalucía is a year-round destination for campervan travel, with each season offering something different. Spring is particularly rewarding — the Feria de Abril in Seville (usually late April) fills the city with flamenco, horses, and colour, while the Patios Festival in Córdoba each May opens private courtyards to the public. Autumn brings comfortable temperatures and quieter roads, ideal for exploring the Sierra de Grazalema or the Cabo de Gata coast. Summer is peak season along the Costa del Sol, so booking your Yescapa vehicle early gives you the best choice from local owners. Winter is mild across much of the coast, making it a great time to hire a motorhome and enjoy Andalucía without the crowds.
To help you plan your trip, we have selected six unmissable road trips, suitable for all travelers.
This route winds through Andalucía's famous pueblos blancos, starting in Ronda and looping through Zahara de la Sierra, Grazalema, and Setenil de las Bodegas. Around 220 km of scenic mountain roads pass through the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park. Ideal for a campervan — roads are well-paved but narrow in places, so smaller vehicles have the advantage.
Starting from Almería, this 250 km loop explores the Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park along Andalucía's most unspoilt coastline. Stop at the fishing village of San José, the salt flats of Cabo de Gata, and the beach at Playa de los Muertos. Campsites near the park welcome both campervans and motorhomes, with pitches close to the sea.
Follow the course of Andalucía's great river from Córdoba to Sanlúcar de Barrameda, covering around 350 km. Visit the Medina Azahara ruins outside Córdoba, the olive groves of Jaén province, and the sherry bodegas of Jerez de la Frontera. Wide, flat roads make this route comfortable for larger motorhomes, with plenty of service areas along the way.
This 400 km circuit from Granada crosses the southern slopes of the Sierra Nevada through Andalucía's Alpujarras villages — Pampaneira, Bubión, and Capileira. Continue to the spa town of Lanjarón and the subtropical coast at Almuñécar. Mountain roads are well-maintained but winding, so a campervan offers more flexibility than a larger vehicle on the higher passes.
Covering 600 km from Cádiz to the Tabernas Desert near Almería, this route crosses the full breadth of Andalucía. Highlights include the historic port of Tarifa, the tropical coast of Nerja, and Europe's only semi-arid desert at Tabernas. A mix of motorway and coastal roads suits both campervans and motorhomes, with campsites well-spaced along the route.
This 900 km loop connects all eight provincial capitals of Andalucía: Seville, Huelva, Cádiz, Málaga, Granada, Jaén, Córdoba, and Almería. Take in the Doñana National Park near Huelva, the Renaissance towns of Úbeda and Baeza in Jaén, and the Moorish heritage of Granada. With two weeks, you can enjoy a relaxed pace and explore side roads in your campervan or motorhome.

Andalucía offers a wide variety of campsites spread across its coastline, mountains, and rural interior. Along the Costa del Sol and Costa de la Luz, you will find well-equipped sites with full hook-ups, swimming pools, and direct beach access — perfect for both campervans and motorhomes. Inland, campsites near the Sierra Nevada and the natural parks of Grazalema and Cazorla provide a quieter setting with mountain views and walking trails right from your pitch.
Spain's motorway network in Andalucía includes both free autovías (A-roads) and toll autopistas (AP-roads), though most major routes across the region are toll-free. Speed limits for motorhomes over 3,500 kg are 90 km/h on motorways and 80 km/h on conventional roads — lower than for cars, so keep an eye on signage. The A-92 connects Seville to Granada and is one of the busiest corridors, while the A-7 Mediterranean motorway runs along the coast from Málaga towards Almería. Rest areas with services appear regularly on main routes. Vehicles over 3 metres in height should watch for restrictions on older urban roads and some mountain passes in the Alpujarras.
Great communication from Gladys and great van! Thanks for making our trip seamless!
Nice car, friendly and helpful people
The process was simple and informative. Once we had decided from the many great options, we received a quick response. Our host was easily reachable and answered our questions to ensure the best experience on our trip. We also felt secure knowing insurance was included. We made a few adjustments to our trip, and we were easily accommodated by the owner. Our trip was beautiful, and well-equipped with everything we needed on the go. It was a lovely experience to explore and sleep where we wanted to ensure we were ready for our adventure the next day.
Nelson is 5*, great guy and great renting experience.
incredibly friendly and took the time to explain how everything worked, making the whole experience easy and enjoyable from the start. The camper van was a pleasure to drive and came fully equipped with everything we could possibly need. He was also available 24/7 to help with any questions and recommended some amazing routes around the island. As first-time camper van travellers, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience, and we would absolutely do it again. It was truly an unforgettable adventure.
The camper was exactly as expected, it was clean and everything worked as it should. It drove well and was surprisingly economical considering its size. The booking process was easy but collection gave a few challenges. The renters location is wrong in the listing as there are two Sauzets in south west France. Coupled with the renter mistakenly not delivering the camper to the correct address meant we were a day late starting our trip. A refund for the missing day was immediately agreed. In all an easy experience once the pickup location was cleared up.
