Palma de Mallorca's Gothic cathedral, La Seu, took nearly 400 years to build and stands just metres from the Mediterranean shore. The city blends centuries of history with a lively waterfront atmosphere, making it a rewarding base for exploring the island by road. Stroll through the winding lanes of the Old Town to reach the Palau de l'Almudaina, a royal palace dating back to Moorish rule, then head to Es Baluard Museu d'Art Contemporani for panoramic views across the harbour. Families enjoy the Palma Aquarium, while food lovers gravitate towards the Mercat de l'Olivar for fresh local produce. Beyond the city, the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range begins roughly 15 km north, offering dramatic coastal roads ideal for a campervan adventure. Sóller sits 30 km north through a scenic mountain tunnel, and the sandy beaches of Es Trenc lie about 50 km to the south-east. Palma's ring road and well-maintained coastal routes make motorhome travel straightforward, though some mountain passes in the Tramuntana are narrow and worth planning around. With Yescapa, you can hire a vehicle directly from local owners in Palma de Mallorca, giving you insider tips and flexible pick-up options that suit your schedule. It is a practical, peer-to-peer way to start your Mallorca road trip right from the heart of the island's capital.
Palma de Mallorca welcomes visitors comfortably from April through October. The Festes de Sant Sebastià in January fill the city with open-air concerts and bonfires, while the Nit de l'Art in September turns galleries and streets into a free cultural celebration. Summer is the busiest period, so booking your campervan early through Yescapa gives you access to competitive peer-to-peer rates from local owners. Spring and autumn bring warm days ideal for driving the coastal and mountain routes without the peak-season crowds. Palma offers year-round mild conditions that suit motorhome travel well.
Palma de Mallorca is the perfect base for exploring the region by motorhome or campervan. Here are our 6 must-see getaways
Drive 55 km south-east from Palma de Mallorca to reach Es Trenc, one of Mallorca's longest natural beaches. Continue to Colònia de Sant Jordi and visit the Salines de Llevant salt flats. Several campsites nearby offer full hook-ups for motorhomes, and the flat coastal roads make for relaxed driving.
Travel 75 km north-east from Palma de Mallorca to the walled town of Alcúdia and its Roman ruins at Pollèntia. Nearby Pollença offers a famous 365-step Calvari staircase and a lively Sunday market. The wide Ma-13 motorway makes the first stretch campervan-friendly, and several campsites sit close to Alcúdia Bay.
Cover 110 km north-east from Palma de Mallorca to Artà, home to the hilltop Santuari de Sant Salvador and the Coves d'Artà sea caves. Continue to the fishing village of Cala Rajada for fresh seafood and coastal walks. Motorhome drivers will find designated parking areas near both towns with easy access to local beaches.
Head 30 km north from Palma de Mallorca through the Serra de Tramuntana to reach the charming valley town of Sóller. Ride the vintage wooden tram down to Port de Sóller and explore the Jardins de Alfàbia along the way. Campervan parking is available near the port, making an overnight stay easy.
Set off on a 145 km route north from Palma de Mallorca along the Tramuntana coast to Cap de Formentor, the island's northernmost point. Stop at Valldemossa to visit the Real Cartuja monastery and at Deià for its clifftop setting. The winding Ma-10 road is narrow in places, so a campervan is the ideal size for this scenic drive.
Circle the entire island on a 200 km loop from Palma de Mallorca, taking in the east coast's Coves del Drac in Porto Cristo and the hilltop town of Felanitx with its Santuari de Sant Salvador. The route follows well-maintained main roads suitable for any motorhome. Plan stops at coastal campsites along the way for a complete Mallorca experience.

Palma de Mallorca and its surrounding area offer a good selection of campsites suited to both campervans and motorhomes. Most sites are located along the coast or in the rural interior, providing pitches with electrical hook-ups, fresh water, waste disposal, showers, and Wi-Fi. Several are open year-round, making Palma a practical base in any season. Whether you prefer a beachside spot or a quieter countryside setting, you will find well-equipped facilities within easy reach of the city.
Parking a motorhome or campervan in Palma de Mallorca is manageable with a bit of planning. The city centre has restricted zones where larger vehicles are not permitted, so it is best to use dedicated car parks on the outskirts and take public transport in. Overnight parking in public streets is generally tolerated outside the centre, but always check local signage. Several facilities around Palma cater specifically to larger vehicles and offer secure, convenient options.
We had a great Motorhome Experience in the Dordogne area in France! Guy’s motorhome had everything we needed for a comfortable and adventurous stay. A great kingsize bed (for a motorhome anyway…) and large fridge, warm water, heating everything is there. If you’re looking for a reliable modern motorhome rental , we highly recommend renting Guy’s motorhome. Marian & Wim.
Excellent guests. We arranged everything quickly and smoothly, and communication was very easy. They returned the van in great condition, so we highly recommend them. 😊
Julie and her partner were absolutely wonderful guests. It was a pleasure to meet them. They were very friendly, respectful, and easy to communicate with throughout the rental. They returned the campervan in excellent condition, clean and well cared for. We would be very happy to welcome them again in the future and can highly recommend them to other owners. Thank you for choosing us, and we wish you many great adventures ahead!
Sofia and Joaqim were really lovely! We enjoyed our trip a lot. The van was clean and had everything that was listed. We had no troubles with anything, it was super easy, convenient and cosy place to stay. We can honestly recommend it. 🥰❤️
It was our first time traveling with a camper, and renting this one for our trip around Mallorca turned out to be an absolutely amazing and unforgettable experience that exceeded all our expectations. The camper was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Everything was well-maintained and thoughtfully equipped, which made our first camper trip easy and enjoyable. Communication with Gustavo was excellent from start to finish. He always responded very quickly, was friendly and helpful, and made the whole process smooth and stress-free. He also shared some fantastic recommendations for places to visit and park around the island, which made our trip even better. We couldn't have asked for a better first camper experience and would highly recommend both the camper and Gustavo to anyone planning a trip to Mallorca. We would happily rent it again in the future!
It was perfect. The owner is a very nice guy who picked us up from Funchal to get to Machico and explained everything about the car. The car included everything that was needed for our roadtrip. The tent is spacious and the amenities were of good quality. Overall it was an amazing experience to enjoy the island this way!
