Bretagne's coastline stretches over 2,730 kilometres, making it the longest of any region in mainland France and a paradise for those who love the sea. From the pink granite formations of the Côte de Granit Rose to the medieval walled city of Saint-Malo, every turn reveals something memorable. The Gulf of Morbihan, one of the world's most beautiful bays, offers sheltered waters and dozens of small islands to explore, while the ancient Alignments of Carnac feature more than 3,000 standing stones dating back to the Neolithic era. Driving from Brest to Rennes covers roughly 245 kilometres, and the route from Saint-Malo to Quimper is around 230 kilometres, giving you a real sense of the region's scale. Bretagne's roads wind through fishing villages, heathland, and dramatic headlands — ideal terrain for a campervan adventure at your own pace. Narrow lanes along the coast reward patient drivers with quiet harbours and panoramic viewpoints, while inland routes pass through the Argoat forests and the Monts d'Arrée hills. With Yescapa, you can hire a motorhome or campervan directly from local owners across Bretagne, choosing from a wide range of vehicles to match your travel style and group size. It is a flexible, peer-to-peer way to discover this remarkable Atlantic region.
Bretagne welcomes travellers from spring right through to autumn, with May to September offering the warmest months and longest days. The Festival Interceltique de Lorient in August draws hundreds of thousands of visitors celebrating Celtic culture, while the Fête des Remparts in Dinan (held every two years in July) transforms the medieval town into a living history spectacle. Campsites across Bretagne open from April, and booking ahead for July and August is a smart move. Through Yescapa, peer-to-peer pricing means you can often find a campervan at better rates than traditional hire, especially in shoulder months like May, June, and September when the coast is quieter and roads are easy to navigate.

Brittany offers a wide choice of campsites, from pitches right on the coast to peaceful spots in the green countryside. Many sites provide electric hook-ups, sanitary facilities and service points for motorhomes and campervans. Whether you prefer a sea-view pitch in Finistère or a nature-focused site in Morbihan, Brittany has something for every preference.
Bretagne benefits from a largely toll-free motorway network, a rarity in France. The main routes — the N12 from Rennes to Brest and the N24/N165 linking Rennes to Quimper via Lorient — are dual carriageways with no tolls. Motorhomes over 3.5 tonnes must observe a speed limit of 110 km/h on these expressways and 80 km/h on secondary roads. Rest areas with dedicated motorhome service points appear regularly along major routes. Be aware that some coastal roads are narrow and winding, so a campervan can be more practical than a larger vehicle for exploring headlands and small harbours.
If you’re looking for the perfect camper van, look no further! Sylvia’s van exceeded all of our expectations. It was spotless, incredibly comfortable, and equipped with absolutely everything we could possibly need. You can immediately tell how much care and attention Sylvia puts into making sure her guests have the best possible experience. What really made the difference was Sylvia herself. She was exceptionally kind, welcoming, and always quick to respond, making us feel supported from the moment we booked until the end of our trip. Thanks to her amazing van, we had an unforgettable adventure and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We would happily rent from Sylvia again and recommend her without hesitation to anyone looking for a reliable host and a fantastic camper van.
I loved tripping around the island with this van. It is equipped with many accessories as described, and some basic food condiments to get you started. Sleeping was comfortable, and handling the van itself too!
Jack and his girlfriend were amazing. The communication with them was really smooth and they took really good care of the van. Would welcome them again anytime and would recommend them to anyone!
The camper van is super confortable with everything you might need along your stay. The beds are super comfy and kitchen and bathroom are very well equipped. Diana also helped us with recommendations and was super kind and attentive to our messages! Thanks Diana :)
We had a fantastic trip in Joao's campervan. It was fully equipped with everything we needed. Every window has a mosquito screen, making it very easy to ventilate the van. It is also a very pleasant and reliable vehicle; we had no trouble driving up steep roads. It is an excellent campervan for 'off-grid' travel, as it comes with hot water, a large fridge, a toilet, ample water, and a large gas supply. We also never had any issues with the electricity, thanks to the solar panel. All windows can be blacked out at night. We highly recommend Joao's campervan. Communication was smooth throughout, too! Thank you very much!
Vincenzo was super vriendelijk, behulpzaam en kwam zijn afspraken na. De camper was compleet en deed het fantastisch. We hebben erg genoten van onze reis.
