Las Vegas welcomed over 40 million visitors in 2023, making it one of the most-visited cities in the United States. Beyond the famous Strip, the city sits at the edge of the Mojave Desert and serves as a launchpad for some of the American West's most remarkable landscapes. The Fremont Street Experience in downtown Las Vegas stretches across five blocks with a massive LED canopy, while the Neon Museum preserves iconic signs from the city's colourful past. The Springs Preserve, a 180-acre site just west of downtown, explores the area's natural and cultural history. For a change of pace, the Las Vegas Arts District along South Main Street is home to galleries, murals, and independent shops. Death Valley National Park lies roughly 190 km to the west, and the Valley of Fire State Park is just 80 km to the northeast — both are easily reached by road. The wide, well-maintained highways radiating out from Las Vegas make it a superb base for campervan and motorhome travel, with plenty of space for larger vehicles on the open desert roads. Through Yescapa, you can hire directly from local owners across the Las Vegas area, giving you a peer-to-peer experience that often means more flexible pick-up points and personal tips on the best routes to explore from the city.
Las Vegas is a year-round destination, with each season offering something different. Spring (March to May) brings comfortable temperatures ideal for campervan touring through the surrounding desert parks. October's Life is Beautiful festival fills downtown Las Vegas with live music, art, and food over three days. Winter is a wonderful time to visit, with mild daytime weather and fewer crowds at nearby national parks. Booking through Yescapa gives you access to peer-to-peer pricing, which can be especially favourable outside the peak summer months. For the best choice of motorhome or campervan, we recommend reserving a few weeks ahead during holiday weekends.
Las Vegas is the perfect base for exploring the region by motorhome or campervan. Here are our 6 must-see getaways
Just 27 km west of Las Vegas, Red Rock Canyon's 21-km scenic loop drive is perfect for a short campervan escape. Stop at Calico Hills for desert views and hike the Keystone Thrust Trail. Parking areas along the loop accommodate larger vehicles, though arrive early for the best spots.
Head 50 km southeast of Las Vegas to reach Lake Mead National Recreation Area. Visit the Historic Railroad Trail and take in views from the Hoover Dam lookout. Several lakeside areas welcome motorhomes, and Boulder Beach offers convenient access to the water for a relaxing 1–4 day trip.
Drive 170 km northeast from Las Vegas to reach Zion National Park. Hike Angels Landing or explore The Narrows along the Virgin River. Watchman Campground near the park entrance has pitches for campervans. Stop in Springdale for supplies — the town sits right at the park's south entrance.
Around 200 km southeast of Las Vegas, Joshua Tree National Park spans two distinct desert ecosystems. Explore Skull Rock, Keys View, and the Cholla Cactus Garden. Cottonwood and Jumbo Rocks campgrounds welcome campervans and motorhomes. Stock up on water and fuel in Twentynine Palms before entering.
The 430 km drive east from Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon South Rim is a classic road trip. Stop at the Skywalk on the West Rim, then continue to Mather Point and Yavapai Geology Museum. Trailer Village near the South Rim offers full hook-ups for motorhomes — book your pitch in advance.
Cover 440 km west from Las Vegas to Los Angeles along Interstate 15. Break the journey at Barstow's Route 66 Mother Road Museum and Peggy Sue's 50s Diner. Santa Monica Pier makes a great final stop. Rest areas along the interstate are well-spaced and suitable for campervan breaks.

Las Vegas and its surroundings offer a solid range of campsites suited to both campervans and motorhomes. In the city itself, you will find full-service RV resorts with electric hook-ups, water connections, Wi-Fi, laundry facilities, and swimming pools. Heading a short distance out, desert campgrounds near Boulder City and Red Rock Canyon provide a quieter setting with basic amenities including toilets and fire pits — ideal for those who prefer open skies over city lights.
Parking a motorhome or campervan in Las Vegas requires a bit of planning, as the Strip itself has height and length restrictions in most garages. Several casino properties on the north end of the Strip and in the downtown area offer surface lots or dedicated RV parking that can handle larger vehicles. Always check posted signage for overnight rules — most casino car parks allow short stays but not extended overnight camping without permission. For longer stops, dedicated RV parks are the safest option.
Alles super, Fahrzeug, Vermieter und Ablauf!
We had the best trip with the van "Fiona" we rented by Cuca - the most amazing host. There was no problems with the van, and it was driving great for an old car. The van also had everything we needed like a portabel shower, a sink with running water, a cooler and a much needed parasol. Cuca recommended the best beaches and places, and responded quickly to any questions we had. We cant recommend Cuca and the van enough!
Everything went perfectly, the van was just what we wanted for our trip, would do it again.
Great
Nous avons vécu une expérience formidable, tant avec le van qu'avec Hervé et Muriel. Je recommande vivement leur véhicule : il est très confortable, facile à conduire et parfaitement équipé pour passer de superbes vacances. Encore merci pour tout.
