From sleek A-class models to versatile coachbuilts and low-profiles, there’s a motorhome for every adventure—whether you need a compact getaway for two or a spacious multi-berth for the whole family.
The campervan is the ultimate all-rounder. Effortlessly practical and built for freedom, it’s just as at home navigating tight city streets as it is exploring the heart of the countryside.
Catalonia stretches across 32,000 square kilometres of northeastern Spain, where the Pyrenees mountains rise to 3,143 metres at Pica d'Estats before the land tumbles down through forested valleys to over 580 kilometres of Mediterranean coastline. From Barcelona, the regional capital, it is roughly 170 km north to the French border at La Jonquera and around 200 km southwest to the ancient city of Tortosa on the Ebro Delta. The landscape shifts dramatically as you travel: the rugged coves of the Costa Brava give way to the fertile vineyards of the Penedès, while inland you will find the serrated peaks of Montserrat and the volcanic zone of La Garrotxa Natural Park, home to more than 40 dormant volcanoes. Catalonia's cultural landmarks are equally varied — the Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres, the Romanesque churches of the Boí Valley (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), and the monastery of Poblet all reward a slower pace of exploration. Travelling by campervan lets you connect these highlights at your own rhythm, pulling over wherever the view or a local market catches your eye. A motorhome gives families and larger groups the space to settle comfortably at each stop. Through Yescapa, you can hire directly from local owners across Catalonia, choosing from a wide range of campervans and motorhomes that suit your route, your group size, and your budget.
Catalonia's campervan season runs comfortably from April through to October. Spring is ideal for exploring La Garrotxa's volcanic trails and catching the Temps de Flors flower festival in Girona each May. Summer brings warm coastal days along the Costa Brava, while September and October are perfect for the wine harvest in the Penedès and Priorat regions. Book ahead for July and August, the busiest months for coastal campsites. Outside peak season, Yescapa's peer-to-peer model often means more competitive pricing, and you will find quieter roads through the Pyrenean foothills and inland valleys — great for a more relaxed motorhome trip.
To help you plan your trip, we have selected six unmissable road trips, suitable for all travelers.
A 550 km loop taking 7–11 days, linking Barcelona, Girona, Figueres, and the Pyrenean town of La Seu d'Urgell before returning via Montserrat. Suits both campervans and motorhomes, with well-serviced campsites along the route.
This 600 km route over 8–15 days climbs from the rice paddies of the Ebro Delta through Tortosa and the Priorat wine country up to the Aigüestortes National Park. A campervan handles the narrower mountain roads with ease.
Follow 180 km of Mediterranean shoreline over 3–6 days, from Blanes to Cadaqués. Stop at Tossa de Mar's walled old town and the Medes Islands marine reserve near L'Estartit. Plenty of beachside campsites welcome motorhomes.
A relaxed 150 km drive over 3–5 days through Catalonia's cava heartland. Visit Vilafranca del Penedès and Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, stopping at cellar doors along quiet country lanes. Ideal for a compact campervan.
Cover 350 km in 5–8 days crossing Catalonia's high Pyrenees from the Val d'Aran to Puigcerdà in the Cerdanya valley. Mountain campsites near Sort and Espot offer full hook-ups for motorhomes and campervans alike.
A 400 km circuit over 5–8 days exploring inland Catalonia, from Vic through the volcanic landscapes of Olot and La Garrotxa, then south to the medieval town of Besalú and Banyoles lake. Well-suited to campervans on winding rural roads.

Catalonia offers campsites spread from the sandy Mediterranean coast to the green Pyrenean valleys. Coastal sites typically provide generous pitches with electrical hook-ups, modern shower blocks, and direct beach access, while mountain campsites focus on nature with quieter surroundings and full service areas for motorhomes. Many sites across Catalonia also cater to campervans with dedicated hardstanding pitches and fresh-water filling points.
Catalonia's main motorways — the AP-7 along the coast and the AP-2 inland — are toll roads, payable by card or cash at barrier booths. Motorhomes and campervans over 3,500 kg are classed as heavy vehicles, with higher toll rates and a general speed limit of 90 km/h on motorways (compared to 120 km/h for cars). On secondary roads the limit drops to 80 km/h for these larger vehicles. Rest areas with dedicated parking bays for larger vehicles appear regularly along the AP-7. Be aware that some mountain passes in the Pyrenees have tight bends and height restrictions, so check your vehicle dimensions before heading into high valleys.
Great experience. Enjoyed the campervan a lot, it was spacious and nice to drive. The owner Diogo was also very helpful and supportive with everything. I recommend
We rented the van for 10 days and had an amazing time! The van isn't isn't new but it's in great mechanical condition and well maintained. We had zero problems and highly recommend!
Carrinha muito viável, confortável e espaçosa. Casa de banho extremamente conviniente. O dono é extremamente simpático e sempre disponível a tirar qualquer dúvida. Experiência a repetir sem dúvida.
We had an outstanding experience renting from Antonio and his family. Antonio and his son Ricardo provided clear, thorough instructions on operating the camper, ensuring we felt confident from the start. Throughout the trip, Ricardo's communication and support were excellent—always responsive and helpful. At the end of the rental, their evaluation was fair, transparent, and reasonable. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a smooth camper rental experience!
Absolutely perfect. The vehicle was exactly as described and equipped with everything necessary for a perfect stay. We had a great time and would love to book it again the next time we are in France 🇫🇷
Amazing trip! I travelled with a friend all around the Dolomites in Nicola's van. It was incredible, it couldn't have gone better. The van is fully equipped with everything you need. We did feel a little cold the first night so we got some blankets at a local shop to upgrade the ones available in the van. The only thing worth mentioning is that the pick-up/drop-off location is a bit inconvenient (relatively far away), but for the price and quality, it's definitely worth it. The hosts were super attentive to everything we needed. Thank you!
