Dublin's Ha'penny Bridge has welcomed pedestrians across the River Liffey since 1816, making it one of the oldest cast-iron bridges in Ireland. The capital city blends centuries of literary heritage with a lively cultural scene, from the Book of Kells at Trinity College Dublin to the vast collections inside the National Museum of Ireland on Kildare Street. A walk through St Stephen's Green leads you into Georgian streetscapes, while the Guinness Storehouse at St James's Gate offers panoramic rooftop views across the city. Heading south, the Wicklow Mountains National Park sits just 35 km away, with winding roads through Glendalough's monastic valley. To the north, the historic town of Drogheda is roughly 48 km up the M1, opening the door to the Boyne Valley and Newgrange. Dublin's coastal stretch along Dublin Bay is well suited to campervan travel, with relatively flat roads and easy access to seaside villages like Howth and Dún Laoghaire. Motorhome drivers will find the M50 ring road a practical way to navigate around the city without entering the busy centre. Through Yescapa, you can hire directly from local owners across Dublin, which means flexible pick-up points and a more personal start to your trip. Peer-to-peer sharing also gives you access to a wider range of vehicles, from compact campervans to fully equipped family setups, often at better value than traditional rental depots.
Dublin is a rewarding destination throughout the year. June to September brings long daylight hours, ideal for exploring the coast by campervan. The city comes alive during Bloomsday on 16 June, celebrating James Joyce with readings and re-enactments across the city. In late September, Dublin Fringe Festival fills theatres and unusual venues with performances. Booking your motorhome through Yescapa during spring or early autumn often means more availability from local owners and competitive peer-to-peer pricing. Summer is the most popular season, so reserving a few weeks ahead is a smart move. Dublin's mild climate means even winter trips are comfortable for touring.
Dublin is the perfect base for exploring the region by motorhome or campervan. Here are our 6 must-see getaways
Head 60 km south from Dublin into the Wicklow Mountains. Glendalough's monastic settlement and Upper Lake make a peaceful base. Stop at Powerscourt Waterfall along the way and walk the Spinc trail for valley views. Campervan parking is available at the visitor centre, and the R115 Military Road offers a scenic alternative route through the hills.
Drive 48 km north from Dublin along the M1 to Drogheda, gateway to the Boyne Valley. Visit the 5,000-year-old passage tomb at Newgrange and the Battle of the Boyne site at Oldbridge. Motorhome parking is straightforward at the Brú na Bóinne Visitor Centre. The flat roads through County Meath make this an easy and rewarding short trip.
Travel 165 km south-west from Dublin through Ireland's Ancient East. Kilkenny Castle and the Medieval Mile Museum anchor the first stop. Continue to the Rock of Cashel, a dramatic hilltop fortress near Tipperary town. Campervan-friendly campsites dot the route, and the roads through County Carlow are wide and well maintained for larger vehicles.
Head 170 km west from Dublin on the M6 to reach Galway, a city shaped by its Atlantic coastline. Explore the Latin Quarter, stroll along the Long Walk, and visit the Galway City Museum. From Galway, the Connemara loop adds wild coastal scenery. Motorhome services are available at Salthill, and Galway's campsite options make it a practical overnight base.
Cover 260 km south-west from Dublin to reach Killarney, starting point for the Ring of Kerry. This loop passes through Kenmare, Waterville, and Cahersiveen, with views of the Skellig Islands from Valentia Island. The N22 is well suited to campervans. Plan stops at Moll's Gap and Ladies View. Book campsites in Killarney ahead during summer months.
Drive 310 km north-west from Dublin to County Donegal, where the Wild Atlantic Way reaches its northern stretch. Visit the Slieve League sea cliffs, Glenveagh National Park, and the sandy beach at Maghera Caves. The route via Sligo lets you stop at Benbulben. Roads narrow in parts, so a campervan is ideal. Campsites near Donegal Town offer full hook-ups.

Dublin and its surrounding counties offer a good selection of campsites suited to both campervans and motorhomes. Along the coast, you will find sites with sea views and easy access to coastal walks, while inland options provide quieter countryside settings. Most sites offer electric hook-ups, toilet and shower blocks, and dedicated hardstanding pitches for larger vehicles. Several are within a short drive of the city centre, making them practical bases for exploring Dublin without the hassle of urban parking.
Parking a motorhome or campervan in Dublin requires some planning, as the city centre has height and length restrictions on many car parks. Overnight parking in public spaces is generally not permitted without specific signage allowing it. The best approach is to use designated areas on the outskirts and travel into the centre by public transport. Dublin's Luas tram and DART rail lines connect outer parking areas to the city centre efficiently.
We had a really nice experience with Egoi’s van! Traveled from Bilbao to Cantabria and Asturias, from Picos de Europa to the coastal of the ocean. The van was clean, safe and comfortable. Egoi is a very helpful and good person!
Amazing guests! Communication was excellent from beginning to end, they treated the campervan with great care and everything went perfectly throughout the rental.Very friendly, respectful and easy-going people. They also returned the van super clean, which was really appreciated. The whole experience was smooth and stress-free and I would happily rent to them again anytime.Highly recommended!
Renting Gabriel’s van was honestly one of the best parts of my trip. The van has so much personality and charm — it felt cozy, reliable, and full of good energy from the moment I picked it up. I loved waking up in different places, making coffee with amazing views, and having the freedom to go wherever I wanted.Gabriel was amazing as well. Super kind, easygoing, and always available if I needed anything. He explained everything clearly and made me feel comfortable straight away. This isn’t just a camper van, it’s an experience. You can tell it has been loved and cared for. I left with beautiful memories and would absolutely rent it again without hesitation.Thank you Gabriel for sharing your little home on wheels with me :)
Ragazzi fantastici, siamo diventati amici, hanno restituito il van in perfette condizioni! Grazie mille ragazzi e alla prossima!
Great experience renting with a child and a dog. Carina was an amazing host—always in touch and very supportive. She even met us before the payment to check if our larger car seat would fit the Isofix, and she welcomed our dog for free, even giving us a nice blanket for him.The camper was in good condition. The only downside was having just one gas bottle instead of the usual two. It ran out unexpectedly at night, and since gas bottles were not available at the gas stations along our way, we couldn't get a replacement. As a result, we spent the last 2.5 days of our trip without heating or the stove. Other than that, everything was perfect. Highly recommended!
