Washington State's Olympic Peninsula alone contains over 1,100 kilometres of wild Pacific coastline, three distinct rainforests, and one of the most diverse ecosystems in North America. From the snow-draped summit of Mount Rainier — the tallest peak in the Cascades at 4,392 metres — to the lavender fields of Sequim and the dramatic basalt columns of Dry Falls, this corner of the Pacific Northwest rewards every kind of explorer. Seattle to the Columbia River Gorge is roughly 370 km, while the drive from the capital, Olympia, north to Bellingham covers about 240 km, giving you a sense of how much ground a road trip here can cover. Coastal highways wind past sea stacks and tidal pools, mountain passes climb through old-growth forest, and the rolling wheat fields of the Palouse in the east offer wide-open horizons ideal for larger vehicles. Whether you fancy whale watching in the San Juan Islands, hiking the trails of North Cascades National Park, or sampling wine in the Yakima Valley, a campervan lets you move at your own pace. With Yescapa's peer-to-peer platform, you can hire a motorhome or campervan directly from local owners across Washington State, choosing from a range of vehicles that suit everything from a weekend coastal escape to a fortnight-long loop through the interior.
Washington State's dry season runs from June through September, when long daylight hours open up high-altitude routes such as the Cascade Loop. The Skagit Valley Tulip Festival in April draws visitors to fields of colour north of Seattle, while the Ellensburg Rodeo over Labour Day weekend in early September celebrates the state's ranching heritage. Summer is peak season, so booking your campervan on Yescapa early gives you the widest choice and the best peer-to-peer rates from local owners. Spring and autumn bring quieter roads and lower prices, perfect for exploring Washington State's national parks without the crowds.
To help you plan your trip, we have selected six unmissable road trips, suitable for all travelers.

Washington State offers campsites ranging from oceanfront pitches on the Pacific coast to forested spots beneath the Cascades and open-sky parks in the eastern steppe. Many state park campgrounds provide electric hook-ups, drinking water, hot showers, and dump stations suitable for both campervans and motorhomes. Booking through the Washington State Parks reservation system is straightforward, and sites are well distributed across the region.
Washington State has no toll roads for general traffic, though a few bridges and express lanes around Seattle use the Good To Go! electronic pass. Interstate speed limits are typically 70 mph (113 km/h) for cars, but motorhomes over 10,000 lbs are limited to 60 mph (97 km/h) on most highways. Mountain passes like Stevens Pass and Snoqualmie Pass on I-90 may require chains in winter, and some scenic routes through the Cascades close seasonally. Rest areas are well spaced along I-5 and I-90, with many offering overnight parking for self-contained vehicles.
We had an amazing time with the car! Looks exactly like the pictures and they were very nice to us. We can definitely recommend this campervan. :-)
It was a pleasure meeting Fernando and his girlfriend. They were friendly, respectful, considerate, and took excellent care of the motorhome. They returned it clean and exactly as expected, and everything went smoothly from start to finish. I would gladly rent to them again and highly recommend them to other owners.
It was unbelievable from the very beginning))) first of all - the owner! Pedro made this perfect 4x4 Jeep by himself, and he gave all the stuff he use by himself during our trip) we just don’t take the solar panels, because we prefer not to stay for a long time in one spots) So the kitchen, the shower, roof top living area and A coffee machine almost))) that was really incredible to have it with us and to use it during our trip! Moreother Pedro was available during the rental period and before our trip he send us some great spots to stay and very quit and awesome route in the heart of Portugal! So we are thinking about the next experience with him and his Jeep. Definitely will come back for another trip! Thanks 🤗
The owner, João was amazing, he explained everything in detail so we could enjoy as much as possible. The campingcar was exactly what we wanted and it was pretty awesome We will come again 100%
The van was perfect for our trip through Portugal. The owners were very nice and helpful and always available. We had a very good experience!
———— We had a great experience renting the camper van from Adrià. Communication was excellent from the beginning—he was always quick to respond and very flexible with timings and anything we needed. The van was exactly as shown in the photos, in great condition, and we had no issues throughout our trip. We would definitely recommend renting from him and would happily do it again.
