Wien's Riesenrad Ferris wheel has been turning in the Prater amusement park since 1897, making it one of the oldest still-operating giant wheels in the world. The Austrian capital sits along the Danube, offering a mix of imperial architecture, thriving coffee culture, and green spaces that stretch well beyond the city centre. Schönbrunn Palace and its vast gardens are a must-see, while the Kunsthistorisches Museum houses one of Europe's finest art collections. Music lovers can follow in Mozart's footsteps at the Mozarthaus Vienna, and the Naschmarkt — a bustling open-air market — is ideal for sampling local flavours. Bratislava is just 80 km east, making it an easy day trip, and the Wachau Valley begins roughly 80 km to the west, where vineyards line the Danube banks. The city's flat terrain and well-maintained roads make it straightforward to navigate by campervan, and several dedicated motorhome service areas sit on the outskirts. With Yescapa, you can hire directly from local owners across Wien, which means flexible pick-up points and a more personal experience. Whether you are planning a weekend city break or using Wien as a launchpad for a longer Austrian road trip, peer-to-peer sharing keeps things simple and affordable.
Wien welcomes visitors year-round, with each season bringing its own appeal. The Wiener Festwochen in May and June fills the city with theatre, music, and dance performances, while the famous Christkindlmarkt transforms Rathausplatz from mid-November. Summer is the most popular period for campervan travel, so booking your Yescapa hire early is a smart move. Spring and autumn offer comfortable driving temperatures and quieter campsites around the city. Winter brings a magical atmosphere, and many motorhome service points remain open, making it easy to enjoy Wien's festive season on four wheels.

Around Vienna, you will find a solid selection of campsites suited to both campervans and motorhomes. Several sites on the city outskirts offer electric hook-ups, modern sanitary facilities and good public transport connections into the centre. Along the Danube, nature-oriented campsites provide pitches with river access, while sites in the Vienna Woods offer a quieter, greener setting. Many campsites in the Vienna region remain open year-round.
Vienna has specific parking rules for motorhomes and campervans. In the inner districts (1st to 9th and 20th), short-stay parking zones apply and vehicles over 3.5 tonnes are not permitted. For larger vehicles, Park and Ride facilities on the outskirts are recommended, offering direct underground connections to the centre. Overnight stays in vehicles on public car parks are generally not allowed in Vienna – use designated motorhome areas and campsites instead.
Très bonne expérience avec Florence ! Gentille, ponctuelle et respectueuse. Le van a été rendu très propre. Je recommande sans hésiter
Angel is a great guy. Easy communication and great experience overall. Highly recommended
Javi was extremely kind and helpful. The van is a bit older, but drives very nicely and has a convenient interior. All of the things we needed were provided. We had a really good experience and would definitely rent again!
They are such a lovely family! I really appreciate them renting my camper and enjoying their journey with it. Communication was also very smooth and pleasant!

We had a fabulous time and thank you for being so accomodating for us. If we were to hire again we would take our own bedding as the disposable sheets provided were not ideal and there wasnt very good blankets for the cold nights.
