Why choose Nashville for your road trip

Nashville — a city worth exploring

Nashville's full-scale replica of the Parthenon, built in 1897 and still standing in Centennial Park, makes it the only city outside Greece to house a complete recreation of the ancient temple. Known worldwide as Music City, Nashville offers far more than its legendary honky-tonks on Broadway. The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum traces the genre's roots through interactive exhibits, while the Ryman Auditorium — the original home of the Grand Ole Opry — welcomes visitors for tours and live performances year-round. Cross the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge for panoramic views of the Cumberland River, then explore the colourful murals of the Gulch neighbourhood on foot. For a change of pace, the Cheekwood Estate and Gardens spreads across 22 hectares of botanical beauty on the city's western edge. Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate that Mammoth Cave National Park lies just 150 km to the north, and the Great Smoky Mountains are roughly 350 km to the south-east — both ideal extensions for a longer road trip. Nashville's wide avenues and well-maintained highways make it a comfortable base for motorhome travel, with plenty of space to navigate even larger vehicles. Through Yescapa, you can hire a campervan directly from a local owner, giving you insider tips on the best routes and a more personal start to your Tennessee adventure. Whether you are planning a weekend city break or a multi-week southern road trip, renting a campervan in Nashville puts you right at the crossroads of music, history, and open road.

Best time to visit

Nashville is a year-round destination, though spring and autumn are especially rewarding for campervan travel. The CMA Music Festival in June fills the city with free outdoor stages and fan events, while the Nashville Film Festival each October brings a creative buzz to the Gulch district. Summer is the most popular season, so we recommend booking your Yescapa motorhome early to secure the best choice from local owners. Mild autumn temperatures make October and November ideal for scenic drives along the Natchez Trace Parkway. Winter visitors can enjoy lower hire prices and quieter campsites, plus festive light displays at Cheekwood Estate through December.

Where to park your motorhome

Nashville allows oversized vehicle parking in several designated areas, though overnight street parking for motorhomes and campervans is generally not permitted in the downtown core. We recommend arriving early on weekends and during major events to secure a spot.

  • Nashville Fairgrounds Parking, 4km south — Large open lot with ample space for motorhomes and campervans. Located south of downtown, convenient for events at the fairgrounds and a short drive to Broadway.
  • Nissan Stadium Lot, 2km east — Spacious parking area on the east bank of the Cumberland River. Suitable for oversized vehicles on non-event days, with easy pedestrian access to downtown via the Seigenthaler Bridge.
  • Two Rivers Campground Parking, 10km northeast — Dedicated parking for campervan and motorhome guests staying at the campground. Located near the Opryland area with good access to Briley Parkway for onward travel.

Clean. Comfortable. Clearly designed with so much thought and attention to detail. My husband and I rented this van for a quick weekend trip. It was just the 2 of us, but it would work just as well for 4 people. The camper was the perfect set up for us to find a spot we liked and come and go as needed throughout action packed days. The van drove smoothly, and the set up inside was super intuitive with everything we needed and more. The kitchen was well stocked, the bed was comfortable and we had just what we needed. Amélie and her husband were wonderful, making the entire process stress free and easy! They even surprised us with some welcome drinks in the fridge. Check in and check out were a breeze. We would absolutely rent from Amélie again!

Muchas gracias!

A wonderful couple and a pleasure to host. Communication was easy and smooth throughout the whole rental, and they were completely reliable. They returned the van exactly as agreed, on time and in excellent condition. Everything went perfectly from start to finish. I would be more than happy to rent to them again and can highly recommend them to any host.
