Glastonbury Tor rises 158 metres above the Somerset Levels, topped by the roofless St Michael's Tower that has watched over the town since the 14th century. This small but culturally rich town in south-west England draws visitors year-round with its blend of history, legend, and open countryside. Glastonbury Abbey, once one of the wealthiest monasteries in England, offers peaceful ruins to wander through, while the Glastonbury Lake Village Museum tells the story of an Iron Age settlement discovered nearby. A short walk from the high street leads to the Chalice Well & Gardens, where iron-rich spring water has flowed for at least two thousand years. Wells, England's smallest city, sits just 10 km to the north-east, and the coast at Burnham-on-Sea is roughly 22 km to the west, making day trips easy. The Somerset Levels surrounding Glastonbury are flat and open, ideal for driving a campervan or motorhome without worrying about tight mountain passes. Country lanes can be narrow in places, so a vehicle you feel comfortable with matters. Through Yescapa, you can hire directly from local owners across Somerset, choosing a vehicle that suits both the roads and your plans. Peer-to-peer sharing means more choice, fair pricing, and personal tips from people who know the area well.
Glastonbury is rewarding in every season. The famous Glastonbury Festival takes place in late June at nearby Worthy Farm, filling the area with energy and colour — book your campervan well ahead if you plan to visit then. The Glastonbury Frost Fayre in November brings local crafts and food stalls to the high street. Summer offers the longest days for walking up the Tor and exploring the Levels, while autumn wraps the landscape in warm tones perfect for quieter touring. With Yescapa, peer-to-peer pricing keeps hire costs reasonable even during busier months, and booking early gives you the widest choice of motorhomes and campervans from local owners.

Head south from Glastonbury through the Mendip Hills to Cheddar Gorge, around 45 km away. Walk the gorge clifftop trail, visit Gough's Cave, and stop at Cheddar village for local cheese. Campervan parking is available at the gorge car park, and the roads through the Mendips are well-surfaced.
Drive south-west from Glastonbury for about 80 km to reach Exmoor National Park. Explore Dunster Castle, walk along the Valley of Rocks near Lynton, and look for wild ponies on the moor. Several campsites welcome motorhomes, and the roads through Porlock Hill offer memorable views.
From Glastonbury, head 120 km south to the Jurassic Coast. Visit Lyme Regis for fossil hunting, walk the clifftop path to Durdle Door, and explore the harbour town of West Bay. Campervan-friendly sites dot the coastline, and wider A-roads make the journey straightforward for larger vehicles.
Travel 160 km south-east via Bath, pausing at the Roman Baths and Royal Crescent, then continue into the Cotswolds. Stroll through Bourton-on-the-Water and Castle Combe. Motorhome pitches are plentiful around Cirencester, and the route follows well-maintained A-roads throughout.
Head west from Glastonbury for roughly 210 km to reach Pembrokeshire in south Wales. Walk the coastal path near St Davids, kayak around Ramsey Island, and visit Tenby's colourful harbour. Several campervan sites sit close to the beaches, and the M4 keeps the first stretch easy.
A 280 km drive south-west from Glastonbury brings you to Cornwall. Surf at Newquay, explore the Eden Project near St Austell, and walk the clifftops at Land's End. Book campsites ahead during summer for the best pitches, and enjoy the A30 dual carriageway for a smooth motorhome journey.

Glastonbury sits in the heart of the Somerset Levels, surrounded by green countryside that offers a good range of campsites for both campervans and motorhomes. Most sites provide electric hook-ups, hardstanding pitches, toilet and shower blocks, and waste disposal points. Whether you prefer a quiet rural spot with views of the Tor or a site closer to town with easy walking access, the Glastonbury area has options to suit every style of trip.
Glastonbury offers several parking options suitable for larger vehicles. Overnight parking in public car parks is generally not permitted unless specifically signed, so always check local notices. For longer stays, dedicated campsites with motorhome pitches are the most reliable option. Street parking in the town centre is limited in size, so plan ahead and arrive early during busier periods.
We had a amazing time discovering beautiful Andalusia in Antonio's campervan. It's easy to see that he put a lot of love and care into building it. The van has everything you need. Pick up and drop off was very comfortable and Antonio was always quick to respond when we had a question. Thanks a lot!
We had a really great time with Milka and the team. Very friendly people, fast at responding to all our questions and helped with our needs. Only giving 4 stars to Mylka because we had small issues here and there along the way but nothing that it won't be solved for the next trip. 100% recommended!!!
My experience renting the van from Angelly was fantastic from start to finish. Angelly was kind, responsive, and incredibly helpful in making the whole journey smooth and stress-free. The van was exactly as described, comfortable, well-equipped, and perfect for the trip. I truly loved everything about the van and the overall experience. I would absolutely recommend renting from Angelly and would happily do it again myself.
Una casa rodante muy bien equipada. Muy cómoda y fácil de manejar. Guillermo estuvo atento a cualquier consulta y duda que tenía. Muy recomendable
Very nice experience, in our first time in a Camper van. Very good service of Indie Campers at Elewijt (Brussels). Good and very clean van.
We had overall an amazing experience with the campervan. We drove from lyon towards the south of france enjoying the best of its landscpaes and nature park experiences. The owner was very helpful and friendly, she was always there to help us out with whatever we needed, and also her mom was very kind to us. They were very hospitable.
