Denver sits exactly one mile above sea level at 1,609 metres, earning its famous nickname as the Mile High City. The Colorado State Capitol building even marks this elevation on its 13th step in polished brass. From the buzzing galleries of the Denver Art Museum to the open-air concerts at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, just 25 km west of downtown, the city blends urban culture with easy access to the Rocky Mountains. Stroll through the 32-hectare Denver Botanic Gardens, catch a baseball game at Coors Field, or explore the interactive exhibits at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science in City Park. Boulder lies only 47 km to the northwest, while the ski town of Breckenridge is roughly 110 km to the southwest — both make excellent day trips or weekend escapes. Denver's wide, grid-pattern streets and generous parking infrastructure make it particularly welcoming for larger vehicles, and the surrounding foothills offer scenic routes without the tight switchbacks found deeper in the mountains. With Yescapa, you can hire a campervan or motorhome directly from a local owner, which means flexible pick-up points across the Denver metro area and genuine tips on the best routes into the Rockies. Whether you are planning a week-long mountain circuit or a short weekend getaway, renting from a fellow traveller through the peer-to-peer community adds a personal touch to every road trip starting from Denver.
Denver enjoys over 300 days of sunshine a year, making it a great base for campervan travel in almost any season. Summer brings the lively Denver PrideFest in June and the renowned A Taste of Colorado festival over the Labour Day weekend in September. Spring and autumn are ideal for quieter campsite availability and comfortable driving conditions through the mountain passes. Winter opens up easy access to world-class ski resorts. Booking a motorhome through Yescapa's peer-to-peer platform often means more competitive rates outside peak summer months, so plan ahead and lock in your Denver adventure early.

Denver's surrounding foothills and state parks offer a solid range of campsites for both campervan and motorhome travellers. Most sites west of the city sit at higher elevations with cooler temperatures and mountain scenery, while those to the south and east provide reservoir-side pitches with full hook-ups, showers, and dump stations. Booking ahead is recommended during summer weekends, especially at the popular state park campgrounds near Denver.
Denver allows daytime parking for larger vehicles in many public car parks, though overnight street parking for motorhomes and campervans is generally not permitted in residential areas. Always check posted signage for height and length restrictions. Several large surface lots near major attractions can accommodate bigger vehicles during the day, and a few private lots offer extended stays with prior arrangement.
Dom is a wonderful person, he really goes out of his way to ensure you feel like you're on a real vacation. He is very helpful when it comes to organizing the trip. We hopę to meet more people like him! Best regards :)
Everything went smoothly with booking, pickup and return. The VW camper was perfect for the trip. Small minus: the table did not set up, problem with the leg attachment. Luckily weather was great and we used crates as an outdoor table.
Wonderful trip! A huge thank you to Claudio for such a warm welcome and good explanations before we set off. The campervan was super clean and well-equipped, it was perfect for the Sardinian roads. We had an amazing adventure!
Muy buena experiencia, Juanda fue muy atento en todo momento. Recomendable 100%.
The experience was amazing! We traveled along the coast and into the mountains with the van. A truly unforgettable experience.
