The Brussels-Capital Region packs an extraordinary density of culture into just 161 square kilometres, making it one of Europe's most compact yet rewarding destinations for a road trip. From the iconic Atomium, built for the 1958 World Expo, to the Gothic grandeur of the Cathedral of St. Michael and St. Gudula, every corner tells a story. The Grand Place, recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, sits at the heart of the city, while the Royal Palace of Brussels and the sprawling Parc du Cinquantenaire offer green spaces and architectural marvels just minutes apart. The distance from the European Quarter to the charming commune of Uccle is roughly 9 km, and from the Atomium in the north to the Forêt de Soignes on the southeastern edge is about 15 km — short drives that let you experience remarkably different landscapes in a single day. Roads within the Brussels-Capital Region are well-maintained, though the compact urban layout means a campervan is often the ideal choice for navigating narrower streets. A motorhome works well for reaching green areas on the outskirts. With Yescapa, you can hire a vehicle directly from local owners across the region, giving you flexible pick-up points and a personal touch that makes exploring Brussels-Capital on your own terms easy and enjoyable.
The Brussels-Capital Region welcomes visitors year-round, with each season offering its own appeal. Spring brings the famous Floralies de Bruxelles and the Royal Greenhouses of Laeken open their doors each April for a few precious weeks. Summer is ideal for open-air festivals like the Brussels Summer Festival in August. Autumn sees the Forêt de Soignes transform with golden foliage, and winter markets light up the Grand Place from late November. Booking a campervan through Yescapa during shoulder months like May or September often means more choice from local owners and competitive pricing. The Brussels-Capital Region is easy to reach from across Belgium, so plan ahead for peak weekends.

The Brussels-Capital Region and its surroundings offer a good range of campsites suited to both campervans and motorhomes. From green, wooded settings on the edge of the Forêt de Soignes to well-connected sites near the city centre, you can find pitches with full hook-ups, modern sanitary facilities, and Wi-Fi. Many sites provide easy access to public transport, letting you park up and explore Brussels car-free. Campsites in the wider area around the Brussels-Capital Region cater to all vehicle sizes.
Belgium's motorway network is toll-free, which is great news for motorhome and campervan travellers exploring the Brussels-Capital Region and beyond. The E19, E40, and E411 all converge on Brussels, providing fast connections to Antwerp, Ghent, Liège, and Namur. Speed limits for vehicles over 3.5 tonnes are 90 km/h on motorways and 50 km/h in urban areas. Brussels has a Low Emission Zone (LEZ) — check your vehicle's Euro standard before entering. The Ring (R0) circles the region and can be busy during rush hours, so timing your departure helps. Rest areas along Belgian motorways are well-equipped with parking suitable for larger vehicles.
We can’t recommend this camper enough! The camper was spotless, well-equipped, and had everything we needed for a great trip. What really made the experience special, though, were the people behind it. They were friendly, helpful, and always available if we had any questions. Their genuine care and attention made everything so easy from start to finish. We had an amazing experience and wouldn’t hesitate to book with them again. Thank you for everything! 😊🚐✨
Lili was superb! Picked us from the airport and took us to the campervan. Very friendly and always providing great advice and support. The vehicle was spotless, well maintained and easy to use. Had all the features needed for a long and comfortable van trip.
The vehicle was fine, we enjoyed our staying in Fuerteventura.
