Why hire a campervan or motorhome in Brussels-Capital Region

Brussels-Capital Region — a region worth exploring

The Brussels-Capital Region packs an extraordinary density of culture into just 161 square kilometres, making it one of Europe's most compact yet rewarding destinations for a road trip. From the iconic Atomium, built for the 1958 World Expo, to the Gothic grandeur of the Cathedral of St. Michael and St. Gudula, every corner tells a story. The Grand Place, recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, sits at the heart of the city, while the Royal Palace of Brussels and the sprawling Parc du Cinquantenaire offer green spaces and architectural marvels just minutes apart. The distance from the European Quarter to the charming commune of Uccle is roughly 9 km, and from the Atomium in the north to the Forêt de Soignes on the southeastern edge is about 15 km — short drives that let you experience remarkably different landscapes in a single day. Roads within the Brussels-Capital Region are well-maintained, though the compact urban layout means a campervan is often the ideal choice for navigating narrower streets. A motorhome works well for reaching green areas on the outskirts. With Yescapa, you can hire a vehicle directly from local owners across the region, giving you flexible pick-up points and a personal touch that makes exploring Brussels-Capital on your own terms easy and enjoyable.

Best time to visit

The Brussels-Capital Region welcomes visitors year-round, with each season offering its own appeal. Spring brings the famous Floralies de Bruxelles and the Royal Greenhouses of Laeken open their doors each April for a few precious weeks. Summer is ideal for open-air festivals like the Brussels Summer Festival in August. Autumn sees the Forêt de Soignes transform with golden foliage, and winter markets light up the Grand Place from late November. Booking a campervan through Yescapa during shoulder months like May or September often means more choice from local owners and competitive pricing. The Brussels-Capital Region is easy to reach from across Belgium, so plan ahead for peak weekends.

We had a great experience renting this van in Portugal. The owner was super nice, friendly, and easygoing. He explained everything to us clearly and without any complications, and he was always easy to reach in case we had any questions or problems. Luckily, the van worked perfectly throughout the whole trip. It drives very well and was the perfect size and setup for two people. We really enjoyed having it and had no issues at all. The owner was also very open to feedback and genuinely wanted to make sure we had a good experience. I can definitely recommend renting this van and would happily do it again!

This was our first experience of renting a motor home and doing such a trip, travelling along the Dordogne in France. Our experience with the the owner and the vehicle, couldn't have been better. The owner was very knowledgeable on the vehicle and took the time to demonstrate all the features and operations to us. Everything on the vehicle worked as expected and felt like new. The owner has also provided a lot of extras to make the experience outstanding with everything required to complement the vans utilities with outside living. The van is really well looked after, with nothing at fault, it drove well and feels really modern. Everything is provided, we brought our own things like picnic stuff, cleaning materials, etc. but found they were all provided. We loved the feeling of parking up, opening the awning and sitting back, thinking that's it, nothing else to do, we are settled for the day/night. It was all easy to operate and a helpful guide reminded us what to do on arrival and departure from a stopover. We will definitely be hiring this again. On return the owner was so kind, really relaxed, going through the itinerary and inspection thoroughly, but quickly.
