Zagreb's Museum of Broken Relationships, founded in 2006, remains the only museum in the world dedicated entirely to failed love stories and their remnants. The Croatian capital blends Austro-Hungarian architecture with a lively café culture that spills across Ban Jelačić Square and into the cobbled lanes of the Upper Town. Wander through the Zagreb Cathedral, whose twin spires rise 108 metres above Kaptol, or explore the Croatian National Theatre, an ornate neo-baroque building dating back to 1895. The Mirogoj Cemetery, often considered one of Europe's most beautiful burial grounds, sits just 3 km north of the city centre. Nature lovers will appreciate Maksimir Park, a sprawling 316-hectare green space perfect for a morning walk before hitting the road. Zagreb is well positioned for wider exploration — the Plitvice Lakes are roughly 130 km to the southwest, while the Slovenian capital Ljubljana lies just 140 km to the northwest, making cross-border day trips entirely doable. The terrain around Zagreb is gentle and well-suited to larger vehicles, with wide motorways connecting the city to the Adriatic coast and the Pannonian plains. Hiring a campervan or motorhome through Yescapa means you can pick up directly from a local owner in Zagreb, often saving on depot fees while getting first-hand tips on where to go. With a campervan from a nearby owner, you start your Croatian adventure right from the heart of the city.
Zagreb comes alive from May to September, when outdoor terraces fill the Upper Town and festivals take over the streets. The INmusic Festival, held each June on the island of Lake Jarun, draws music fans from across Europe and is easy to reach with a campervan parked nearby. In December, Zagreb's Advent market transforms Ban Jelačić Square and the surrounding streets into one of Europe's most celebrated winter markets, running from late November through early January. Spring and autumn bring comfortable driving conditions and quieter campsites around the city. Booking a motorhome through Yescapa during shoulder months often means more choice from local owners and better rates, so plan ahead for summer if you prefer peak-season energy.
Zagreb is the perfect base for exploring the region by motorhome or campervan. Here are our 6 must-see getaways
Head 80 km north from Zagreb to the baroque town of Varaždin. Visit the Stari Grad fortress and stroll through the cemetery park, considered one of Europe's finest. Stop at Trakošćan Castle along the way. Campervan parking is well signposted on the outskirts of town.
Just 55 km south-east of Zagreb, Samobor sits on the edge of Žumberak Nature Park. Try the famous Samoborska kremšnita at a pastry shop on the main square and hike up to Samobor Castle ruins. Access roads are well suited for motorhomes, with parking near the town centre.
The Plitvice Lakes lie roughly 130 km south of Zagreb and hold UNESCO World Heritage status. Explore the 16 cascading lakes and the Great Waterfall. Break the journey in Slunj to see the Rastoke watermills. Campsites near the national park offer pitches for both campervans and motorhomes.
Rijeka sits 175 km south-west of Zagreb on the Kvarner Bay. Visit the Trsat Castle complex for coastal views and walk along the Korzo, the main promenade. Break the drive with a hike in Risnjak National Park. The A6 motorway is tolled but well suited to larger vehicles heading to the coast.
Dubrovnik lies roughly 395 km south-east of Zagreb, reachable via the coastal road or motorway. Walk the city walls, visit Fort Lovrijenac and explore the Old Town. Plan stops in Makarska and on the Pelješac peninsula. Motorhome parking is available outside the Old Town with shuttle connections into the centre.
Split lies 270 km south-east of Zagreb via the A1 motorway. Explore Diocletian's Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the Riva waterfront promenade. Detour to Šibenik along the way to see the Cathedral of St James. Campsites along the Dalmatian coast offer sea views and solid facilities for campervans.

Around Zagreb you will find campsites suited to both campervans and motorhomes. Most are set in the green surroundings of the city, nestled between forests and lakes. Many sites offer electric hook-ups, modern sanitary facilities with showers and toilets, and Wi-Fi. Several campsites on the outskirts give you quick access to central Zagreb while keeping things peaceful and close to nature.
Zagreb offers several parking options suitable for motorhomes and campervans. The city centre is divided into parking zones, with Zone 1 being the most expensive. For larger vehicles, car parks on the outskirts with good public transport links are the best choice. Overnight parking in your vehicle is generally not permitted on public car parks — use designated motorhome areas or campsites instead.
Todo súper bien, furgo fantástica y totalmente equipada !
Everything amazing )
Simone and his partner were very nice and friendly, eager to get to know everything about the motorhome. They were very attentive and considerate during the handover, as well as easy to communicate with throughout their trip. They treated my motorhome with care and respect and certainly did their best to return it in the condition in which they received it. It was a pleasure having them as my guests, and I highly recommend them to other owners.
It was a perfect RV for our trip to see the solar eclipse. And Conrado is a very pleasant man to communicate with. I highly recommend him and his car 👍
