South Holland is home to the Kinderdijk windmill complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring 19 historic windmills built around 1740 to manage water levels in the low-lying polder landscape. The province stretches from the North Sea coast at Scheveningen to the river deltas near Dordrecht, covering roughly 60 km of diverse terrain. Rotterdam, Europe's largest port, sits just 24 km from the university city of Delft, famous for its blue-and-white pottery tradition dating back to the 17th century. The Hague, seat of the Dutch government and home to the International Court of Justice at the Peace Palace, anchors the northern part of South Holland. Coastal dunes along the Westland area give way to flat polders crisscrossed by canals, making South Holland ideal for leisurely campervan travel on well-maintained roads. The Keukenhof gardens near Lisse draw millions each spring, while the historic harbour of Dordrecht — the oldest city in Holland — rewards those who venture south. From The Hague to Dordrecht is around 45 km, an easy day's drive with plenty of stops along the way. Whether you prefer a compact campervan for city-hopping between Leiden and Gouda or a spacious motorhome for a longer coastal tour, Yescapa connects you with local owners across South Holland who share their vehicles peer-to-peer, giving you flexible pick-up options and a personal touch that makes exploring this water-rich province feel effortless.
South Holland is wonderful from April through October. The Keukenhof gardens open from mid-March to mid-May, showcasing millions of tulips near Lisse — a must-see by campervan. King's Day on 27 April fills The Hague and Rotterdam with street festivals and orange-clad crowds. Summer brings long days perfect for cycling the coastal dunes or exploring Dordrecht's waterfront. Autumn offers quieter roads and golden light over the polders. Through Yescapa's peer-to-peer platform, you can often find competitive rates outside peak summer months, and booking a motorhome in spring or early autumn means more availability at campsites across South Holland.

South Holland offers a good spread of campsites, from coastal pitches near the North Sea to peaceful spots along rivers and polders inland. Many sites provide full hook-ups for motorhomes, including electricity, water, and waste disposal, while also welcoming smaller campervans. Facilities typically include shower blocks, Wi-Fi, and on-site shops. Booking ahead in summer is a good idea, especially for popular coastal locations in South Holland.
Motorways in South Holland are toll-free, so you can travel freely between Rotterdam, The Hague, and Leiden without extra costs. The A4, A13, and A44 are the main routes connecting major cities. Speed limits for motorhomes over 3,500 kg are 80 km/h on rural roads and 100 km/h on motorways — lower than for cars, so keep an eye on signage. The province's motorway network is dense but can be busy during rush hours around Rotterdam and The Hague. Rest areas with facilities are well spaced along major routes, and signage is clear and multilingual.
It was our first time in campervan and we got everything we needed. The car was comfortable, economical and fully equipped. We spent an unforgettable week during the total eclipse, although it was almost impossible to find available space on camping sites at that time. But the car batteries did great job so we could park even without the electricity access. The car used 8,9 l/100 km even though we almost didn't use highways. Carlos was very nice and helpful, he made our trip convenient and safe. We definitely recommend Carlos and his vehicle!
There was a small hiccup at first with the reservation, but it was solved quickly and from there on it was total bliss. The motorhome is absolutely top-notch, and the service was really warm and friendly. Despite the language barrier (we didn't speak much Spanish and they didn't speak much English), everything went very smoothly. So there's no need to worry if you don't speak their language — they have the means and experience to handle it. At the handover they walked us through the motorhome and gave us some camping tips and tricks, which made our trip very enjoyable. A big plus was the air conditioner in the living quarters.
Fantastic Family Experience with a Wonderful Host! We are a family of four and could not be more satisfied with our experience. The owner, Martial, was exceptionally helpful throughout the entire process. Before booking, he answered all of our questions promptly and consistently catered to our needs. During our trip, he went out of his way to check in on us and offered fantastic local advice and recommendations on places to visit. The pickup and drop-off processes were both seamless and efficient. The van itself is in excellent condition, extremely well-maintained, spotless, and fully equipped with everything you might need for a great trip—with practically everything working perfectly. We were also deeply touched by Martial’s kindness in picking us up at the airport, which made the start of our trip so much easier.
We had a fantastic family road trip in Carlos’s motorhome, visiting Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Schwarzwald, and Europa-Park. The vehicle had a few minor scratches from previous rentals and was due for a routine service, but Carlos assured us upfront not to worry about them, and it didn't affect our trip at all. The motorhome was well-equipped—having the onboard air grill was an especially nice touch! Pickup and drop-off were quick, straightforward, and hassle-free. We highly recommend Carlos and his motorhome.
The vehicle picture are old and today's vehicle condition are quite different; there are signs of rust on the bodywork and early signs of mold on the inner tent of the upper bed; few scratches to the vehicle are present but they do no demine its functionalities. Despite the fact that everything works, It has been frustrating to pull and push the rear seat back especially at the beginning of the journey, then we get it right with the experience; I personally recommend having the fold/unfold mechanism inspected and fixed. Anyhow, it allowed us to have a wonderful vacation and the robust engine never left us unsupported. Antonio is very supportive and responsive; he helped us with the logistics and gave us a few tips to start the travel.
This was our first experience with a camper. Aurora and Cristian were very helpful and the rental process was very easy and fast. The camper is quite old, but is very well maintained and fully functional. I would recommend this camper. We didn't had any issues during our trip.
