The Region of Murcia stretches across 11,313 square kilometres of south-eastern Spain, where the Mediterranean coast meets an arid interior shaped by dramatic mountain ranges and fertile river valleys. Along its 250 kilometres of coastline, known as the Costa Cálida, you can explore the Mar Menor — Europe's largest saltwater lagoon — before heading inland to the historic city of Cartagena, whose Roman Theatre dates back to the 1st century BC. From Cartagena to the medieval town of Caravaca de la Cruz, a distance of roughly 150 km, the landscape shifts from coastal plains to the forested slopes of Sierra Espuña Natural Park. Travelling north-west from Murcia city to Moratalla covers around 90 km and takes you through the Ricote Valley, one of the last Moorish strongholds in Spain, lined with terraced orchards and ancient irrigation channels. The region's compact size makes it ideal for campervan travel, with well-maintained roads connecting quiet beaches, thermal spas at Archena, and the wine country of Jumilla and Yecla. Whether you prefer a motorhome with full amenities or a nimble campervan for narrower mountain roads, Yescapa connects you with local owners across the region, giving you a genuine peer-to-peer experience and a wide choice of vehicles to match your trip.
The Region of Murcia enjoys over 300 days of sunshine a year, making it a rewarding destination across all seasons. Spring is especially pleasant for a campervan trip, with the Fiestas de Primavera in Murcia city each April filling the streets with flower parades and local gastronomy. Autumn brings the Carthagineses y Romanos festival in Cartagena each September, a spectacular re-enactment of ancient battles. Summer is the most popular season along the Costa Cálida, so booking your motorhome early on Yescapa helps you secure the best peer-to-peer rates. Winter remains mild and welcoming, perfect for exploring inland towns without the crowds.
To help you plan your trip, we have selected six unmissable road trips, suitable for all travelers.

The Region of Murcia offers campsites spread from the Mediterranean coast to the forested interior, catering to every style of trip. Coastal sites near La Manga and Mazarrón provide direct beach access and full hook-ups for motorhomes, while inland options close to Sierra Espuña suit those looking for mountain walks and cooler evenings. Most sites welcome both campervans and motorhomes, with pitches, electric connections, showers, and waste disposal facilities as standard.
The Region of Murcia is served by toll-free motorways, including the A-7 (Mediterranean motorway) and the A-30 connecting Murcia city to Cartagena. Motorhomes and campervans follow the same speed limits as other vehicles on Spanish motorways — 120 km/h for vehicles under 3,500 kg, and 90 km/h for those above. Larger motorhomes over 3,500 kg must use the right-hand lane on dual carriageways. Rest areas with parking suitable for larger vehicles are well spaced along major routes. Signage follows standard European conventions, and fuel stations are plentiful across the region.
It was our first time in campervan and we got everything we needed. The car was comfortable, economical and fully equipped. We spent an unforgettable week during the total eclipse, although it was almost impossible to find available space on camping sites at that time. But the car batteries did great job so we could park even without the electricity access. The car used 8,9 l/100 km even though we almost didn't use highways. Carlos was very nice and helpful, he made our trip convenient and safe. We definitely recommend Carlos and his vehicle!
There was a small hiccup at first with the reservation, but it was solved quickly and from there on it was total bliss. The motorhome is absolutely top-notch, and the service was really warm and friendly. Despite the language barrier (we didn't speak much Spanish and they didn't speak much English), everything went very smoothly. So there's no need to worry if you don't speak their language — they have the means and experience to handle it. At the handover they walked us through the motorhome and gave us some camping tips and tricks, which made our trip very enjoyable. A big plus was the air conditioner in the living quarters.
Fantastic Family Experience with a Wonderful Host! We are a family of four and could not be more satisfied with our experience. The owner, Martial, was exceptionally helpful throughout the entire process. Before booking, he answered all of our questions promptly and consistently catered to our needs. During our trip, he went out of his way to check in on us and offered fantastic local advice and recommendations on places to visit. The pickup and drop-off processes were both seamless and efficient. The van itself is in excellent condition, extremely well-maintained, spotless, and fully equipped with everything you might need for a great trip—with practically everything working perfectly. We were also deeply touched by Martial’s kindness in picking us up at the airport, which made the start of our trip so much easier.
We had a fantastic family road trip in Carlos’s motorhome, visiting Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Schwarzwald, and Europa-Park. The vehicle had a few minor scratches from previous rentals and was due for a routine service, but Carlos assured us upfront not to worry about them, and it didn't affect our trip at all. The motorhome was well-equipped—having the onboard air grill was an especially nice touch! Pickup and drop-off were quick, straightforward, and hassle-free. We highly recommend Carlos and his motorhome.
The vehicle picture are old and today's vehicle condition are quite different; there are signs of rust on the bodywork and early signs of mold on the inner tent of the upper bed; few scratches to the vehicle are present but they do no demine its functionalities. Despite the fact that everything works, It has been frustrating to pull and push the rear seat back especially at the beginning of the journey, then we get it right with the experience; I personally recommend having the fold/unfold mechanism inspected and fixed. Anyhow, it allowed us to have a wonderful vacation and the robust engine never left us unsupported. Antonio is very supportive and responsive; he helped us with the logistics and gave us a few tips to start the travel.
This was our first experience with a camper. Aurora and Cristian were very helpful and the rental process was very easy and fast. The camper is quite old, but is very well maintained and fully functional. I would recommend this camper. We didn't had any issues during our trip.
