Navarra's Camino de Santiago route through Roncesvalles has welcomed pilgrims for over a thousand years, making it one of Europe's most historically significant entry points into Spain. This northern Spanish region stretches from the Pyrenean peaks along the French border down to the semi-desert landscapes of the Bardenas Reales, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve shaped by wind and water erosion into extraordinary formations. The drive from Pamplona to the Irati Forest, one of the largest beech and fir woodlands in Europe, covers roughly 55 km through winding mountain roads ideal for a campervan adventure. Heading south, the 90 km journey from Pamplona to the Bardenas Reales reveals a completely different terrain of clay plateaus and ravines. Navarra also boasts the Monastery of Leyre, perched above the Yesa Reservoir, and the medieval town of Olite with its restored Royal Palace. The region's compact size makes it remarkably easy to explore by road, yet the variety of landscapes — from alpine meadows to arid plains — keeps every day of your trip feeling fresh. Whether you prefer a motorhome for longer family tours or a nimble campervan for mountain roads, Yescapa connects you with local vehicle owners across Navarra, offering a peer-to-peer hire experience that gives you flexibility and genuine local knowledge to plan your route.
Navarra is a joy to explore from spring through to autumn. May and June bring mild temperatures and green valleys, perfect for a campervan trip through the Pyrenean foothills. July is festival season — the world-famous Sanfermines in Pamplona runs from the 6th to the 14th, so book your motorhome early if you want to experience the festivities. Autumn is equally rewarding: the Irati Forest turns golden in October, drawing walkers and nature lovers. Through Yescapa, peer-to-peer hire means competitive pricing even during popular months, and you can often find vehicles available from owners based right in Navarra.
To help you plan your trip, we have selected six unmissable road trips, suitable for all travelers.
This 180 km loop through southern Navarra takes you from Tudela into the Bardenas Reales desert landscape and along the Ebro river valley. Allow 3–6 days to explore Arguedas, the Castildeterra rock formation, and Olite's Royal Palace. Well-suited to campervans.
A gentle 120 km route over 3–5 days through Navarra's Urbasa-Andía Natural Park. Walk to the turquoise Urederra springs near Baquedano, then continue to Estella-Lizarra. Quiet roads and small campsites make this ideal for a campervan getaway.
Cover 280 km across Navarra's Pyrenean valleys over 5–8 days. Drive from Roncesvalles through the Baztan Valley to Ochagavía, with mountain passes and riverside stops. A motorhome with good clearance handles these roads comfortably.
This 350 km circuit over 5–8 days links Pamplona, Olite, Tudela, and the Foz de Lumbier gorge. You'll cross from green northern hills to the arid south, experiencing Navarra's full diversity. Suitable for both campervans and motorhomes.
A 550 km journey through Navarra over 7–11 days, starting in the Irati Forest and descending to the Bardenas Reales. Stop at Orbaizeta's old ironworks and the Monastery of Leyre. Campervan-friendly campsites are dotted along the route.
This 600 km itinerary over 10–15 days follows the Camino de Santiago through Navarra and branches into its lesser-known valleys. Visit Roncesvalles, Puente la Reina, and the Roncal Valley. A motorhome gives you the space for this extended exploration.

Navarra offers a good spread of campsites from the Pyrenean north to the drier plains of the south. Many sites provide full hook-ups, dedicated motorhome pitches, and service areas for fresh water and waste disposal. Whether you are parking a compact campervan near a mountain trail or settling a larger motorhome close to Pamplona, you will find facilities including showers, toilets, laundry, and Wi-Fi across the region.
Navarra's main motorways — the AP-15 linking Pamplona to Tudela and the AP-68 — are toll roads, payable by card or cash at booths. Motorhomes and campervans over 3,500 kg fall into a higher toll category, so check your vehicle's weight class before setting off. The general speed limit on motorways for vehicles under 3,500 kg is 120 km/h, reduced to 90 km/h on conventional roads. Larger motorhomes may be limited to 100 km/h on motorways. Mountain passes in the Pyrenean north can be narrow and winding, so take your time and use designated rest areas along the N-121-A towards Roncesvalles.
It was our first time in campervan and we got everything we needed. The car was comfortable, economical and fully equipped. We spent an unforgettable week during the total eclipse, although it was almost impossible to find available space on camping sites at that time. But the car batteries did great job so we could park even without the electricity access. The car used 8,9 l/100 km even though we almost didn't use highways. Carlos was very nice and helpful, he made our trip convenient and safe. We definitely recommend Carlos and his vehicle!
There was a small hiccup at first with the reservation, but it was solved quickly and from there on it was total bliss. The motorhome is absolutely top-notch, and the service was really warm and friendly. Despite the language barrier (we didn't speak much Spanish and they didn't speak much English), everything went very smoothly. So there's no need to worry if you don't speak their language — they have the means and experience to handle it. At the handover they walked us through the motorhome and gave us some camping tips and tricks, which made our trip very enjoyable. A big plus was the air conditioner in the living quarters.
Fantastic Family Experience with a Wonderful Host! We are a family of four and could not be more satisfied with our experience. The owner, Martial, was exceptionally helpful throughout the entire process. Before booking, he answered all of our questions promptly and consistently catered to our needs. During our trip, he went out of his way to check in on us and offered fantastic local advice and recommendations on places to visit. The pickup and drop-off processes were both seamless and efficient. The van itself is in excellent condition, extremely well-maintained, spotless, and fully equipped with everything you might need for a great trip—with practically everything working perfectly. We were also deeply touched by Martial’s kindness in picking us up at the airport, which made the start of our trip so much easier.
We had a fantastic family road trip in Carlos’s motorhome, visiting Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Schwarzwald, and Europa-Park. The vehicle had a few minor scratches from previous rentals and was due for a routine service, but Carlos assured us upfront not to worry about them, and it didn't affect our trip at all. The motorhome was well-equipped—having the onboard air grill was an especially nice touch! Pickup and drop-off were quick, straightforward, and hassle-free. We highly recommend Carlos and his motorhome.
The vehicle picture are old and today's vehicle condition are quite different; there are signs of rust on the bodywork and early signs of mold on the inner tent of the upper bed; few scratches to the vehicle are present but they do no demine its functionalities. Despite the fact that everything works, It has been frustrating to pull and push the rear seat back especially at the beginning of the journey, then we get it right with the experience; I personally recommend having the fold/unfold mechanism inspected and fixed. Anyhow, it allowed us to have a wonderful vacation and the robust engine never left us unsupported. Antonio is very supportive and responsive; he helped us with the logistics and gave us a few tips to start the travel.
This was our first experience with a camper. Aurora and Cristian were very helpful and the rental process was very easy and fast. The camper is quite old, but is very well maintained and fully functional. I would recommend this camper. We didn't had any issues during our trip.
