Limburg is the southernmost province of the Netherlands, shaped like a narrow corridor wedged between Belgium and Germany, with the Maas river running through it for over 200 kilometres. The region's highest point, Vaalserberg, rises to 322 metres at the spot where three countries meet — the only place in the Netherlands where you can stand in three nations at once. From the rolling hills of the Heuvelland near Valkenburg to the historic fortifications of Maastricht, Limburg offers a landscape unlike anywhere else in the country. The distance from Maastricht in the south to Venlo in the north is roughly 80 kilometres, making it easy to explore the entire province in a campervan over a long weekend. Stop at the Drielandenpunt for panoramic views, wander through the underground marlstone caves of Sint Pietersberg, or cycle along the quiet towpaths beside the Maas. Roermond draws visitors to its designer outlet and lakeside beaches at the Maasplassen, while the medieval town of Thorn, known as the White Village, is a photographer's dream. The province's compact size and well-maintained roads make it ideal for both campervans and motorhomes of all sizes. Through Yescapa, you can hire a vehicle directly from local owners across Limburg, choosing from a wide range of vans and motorhomes that suit your group and your route — a flexible, peer-to-peer way to discover this distinctive Dutch province.
Limburg is a rewarding destination from spring right through to autumn. May and June bring wildflower-covered hills and comfortable temperatures for exploring the Heuvelland on foot or by campervan. The Preuvenemint food festival in Maastricht, held each August, is one of the largest open-air culinary events in the Netherlands and well worth timing your trip around. September and October offer quieter roads and golden colours across the province's woodlands. Booking through Yescapa's peer-to-peer platform often means more competitive pricing outside the peak summer weeks, and you will find a wider choice of motorhome and campervan options when you plan ahead.
To help you plan your trip, we have selected six unmissable road trips, suitable for all travelers.

Limburg offers a good spread of campsites across the province, from the wooded valleys of the south to the lakeside spots near Roermond. Many sites provide full hook-ups, level hardstanding pitches and modern sanitary blocks suitable for both campervans and motorhomes. Several campsites in the Heuvelland area sit among rolling farmland, giving you easy access to walking and cycling trails right from your pitch.
Motorways in Limburg are toll-free, as is the case across the entire Netherlands. The A2 runs north–south through the province, connecting Maastricht to Eindhoven and beyond, while the A76 and A79 link key towns in the south. Speed limits for motorhomes over 3,500 kg are capped at 80 km/h on motorways and 80 km/h on rural roads. Signage is clear and rest areas with facilities appear regularly along major routes. Be aware that some older town centres, particularly in Valkenburg and Thorn, have narrow streets and low-clearance bridges — plan your route in advance if you are driving a larger vehicle.
Very well maintained vehicle. Alfredo took extra care to add more equipment we requested and was very responsive during the rent period.
We had a great time. We mainly had contact with the husband of Angela, they were super kind and very helpful. Defenitely recommend or come again.
Amazing rental. Best I ever experienced. Car was amazing and we were recommended to go offroad with it which was absolutely fantastic. The car goes anywhere and the cleanliness and rooftop tent setup was perfect. We camped some very beautiful places and the camping setup in the car has everything you would need for your trip. There was good communication between us and the renter - they responded very fast and was very helpful in recommending places to go.
We had a really good trip through Bulgaria with Ivo's car. He really prepared the car with everything you can need. It's a bit unusual to drive a car working with CNG and not the easiest to refill but Ivo provided us the informations to plan our refill easily.
