Friesland offers a wide choice of campsites spread from the Wadden Sea coast to the southern lake district. Many sites provide spacious pitches with electric hook-ups, fresh water points and waste disposal facilities suited to both campervans and motorhomes. Whether you prefer a lakeside spot with direct water access or a rural farm campsite surrounded by meadows, Friesland has something for every style of trip. Most sites are open from April through October, with several offering year-round access.
Friesland's roads are toll-free, as are all motorways in the Netherlands. The A7 and A31 are the main motorways crossing the province, connecting Leeuwarden to Heerenveen and Harlingen respectively. Speed limits for motorhomes over 3,500 kg are 80 km/h on rural roads and 100 km/h on motorways, while lighter campervans follow standard car limits of 130 km/h on motorways where signposted. Rest areas with designated motorhome parking are well spaced along major routes. Be aware that some rural dyke roads in Friesland are narrow, so larger vehicles should stick to N-roads and motorways where possible.
I really wanted to try a classic Hymer camper, and finding this option from Bruno was absolutely amazing! We drove around 700 km along the winding serpentine roads of Switzerland in this motorhome. The heating worked perfectly, keeping us super warm even when it was 5°C outside. Our 1-year-old child completely loved playing on the front dashboard — with all the natural light and panoramic views, it turned into his personal favorite playground. Bruno was incredibly helpful in getting us ready for the trip and even arranged a child car seat for our little one in advance. As for me, I had a blast driving a real, pure mechanical vehicle in such excellent condition.

To była nasza pierwsza podróż kamperem. I bardzo się cieszę że na tę podróż wybraliśmy właśnie auto Łukasza. Auto ma wszystko czego potrzeba do życia w vanie. Mimo swojego wieku jest we wspaniałym stanie technicznym. Ma bardzo wygodne łóżko panele solarne klimatyzację postojową ciepłą wodę i wiele świetnie przemyślanych rozwiązań. Przekazanie auta odbyło się bezproblemowo. Kontakt z Łukaszem i Kamilem był bardzo dobry. Odpowiedzi na nasze pytania przychodziły błyskawicznie. Polecam auto jak i Łukasza. To świetny przewodnik camperingu. Choć plany mieliśmy Wielkie Hiszpania okazała tak wspaniała że nie warto było pokonywać setek kilometrów ponieważ piękne miejsca były na wyciągnięcie ręki. Wrócimy tam nie raz i na pewno skorzystamy z vanu Łukasza. Dzięki Łukasz

We had such a positive experience with Tuija and the Hymer - and even named one of our self-made perfumes after this lovely van! We used the upper bed and were able to keep warm even in chillier nights thanks to the two large duvets (and we brought a hot water bottle rather than using the heating system). Tuija was super helpful in explaining the van to us and very responsive when we had an issue with the fridge. Thanks again and hasta la proxmima :)
