Flevoland is the youngest province in the Netherlands, built almost entirely on land reclaimed from the former Zuiderzee during the 20th century. This feat of engineering means the entire region sits below sea level, making it one of the most remarkable landscapes in Europe for a road trip. From the modern planned city of Almere — just 30 km east of Amsterdam — to the historic former island of Urk, Flevoland offers a fascinating mix of contemporary architecture and centuries-old fishing culture. The Oostvaardersplassen nature reserve, one of the largest wetland areas in western Europe, is home to herds of Konik horses and red deer roaming freely across open marshland. Drive 52 km north-east from Almere to reach Lelystad, the provincial capital, where you can visit the Batavialand museum and climb aboard a full-scale replica of the 17th-century VOC ship Batavia. The Flevopolder's flat terrain and well-maintained roads make it ideal for campervans and motorhomes of all sizes, with wide lanes and easy parking throughout. Head to Zeewolde for peaceful woodland trails, or explore the tulip fields near Dronten in spring. With Yescapa, you can hire a campervan or motorhome directly from local owners across Flevoland, giving you the flexibility to pick up your vehicle close to home and set off at your own pace. The province's compact size means you can explore every corner of Flevoland without long drives between stops.
The best time to hire a campervan in Flevoland runs from April to October. Spring brings the famous Tulip Festival near Dronten, typically held in late April, when vast fields burst into colour across the polders. In August, the former island of Urk hosts its annual Urkerdag, celebrating traditional fishing heritage with costumes and local food. Summer months offer the longest daylight hours, perfect for cycling and exploring Flevoland's nature reserves. Booking through Yescapa during shoulder months like May or September often means more competitive peer-to-peer pricing and quieter campsites. Plan ahead for July and August, the most popular period for motorhome travel in Flevoland.

Dutch motorways are toll-free, so there are no charges for campervans or motorhomes. The national speed limit on motorways is 100 km/h during the day (06:00–19:00) and 120 or 130 km/h at night, though vehicles over 3,500 kg are limited to 80 km/h on all roads. Ok
We had a truly wonderful experience with Tobia and his motorhome. The vehicle was in perfect condition, practically like new, very clean, comfortable, and extremely well maintained. It was the perfect companion for our summer family trip and gave us everything we needed for a fantastic camping experience. From even before the pick-up, communication with Tobia was excellent. He was always responsive, helpful, and genuinely did his best to solve any issues, provide us with all the information we needed, and take our particular situation into consideration. We really appreciated his kindness and flexibility throughout the whole rental. The motorhome itself was very comfortable to drive and surprisingly fuel-efficient, which was a big plus during our long trip. We spent several weeks travelling with it as a family, and it truly made our summer holiday very special and memorable. I would highly recommend both Tobia and this motorhome to anyone looking for a reliable, comfortable and enjoyable camping experience. We would definitely choose this motorhome again for our next trip. Thank you, Tobia, for helping make our family holiday such a great experience!
Todo genial. Gracias
