Liverpool's Royal Albert Dock, built in 1846, was the world's first non-combustible warehouse system and is now a UNESCO World Heritage waterfront. The city sits on the eastern bank of the River Mersey, offering a compelling mix of maritime heritage, world-class music history, and thriving cultural institutions. The Beatles Story at Albert Dock traces the band's journey from Mathew Street to global fame, while the Walker Art Gallery houses one of Europe's finest collections of Pre-Raphaelite paintings. Liverpool Cathedral, the largest cathedral in Britain, dominates the skyline from St James's Mount. For football fans, the Anfield Stadium Tour brings decades of sporting history to life. Manchester lies just 56 km east along the M62, and the beaches of the North Wales coast are roughly 30 km south-west, making Liverpool a superb base for wider exploration. The city's flat terrain and well-connected road network make it easy to navigate by motorhome, while the waterfront promenades are ideal for a stroll after parking up. With Yescapa, you can hire a campervan directly from a local owner in the Liverpool area, giving you the flexibility to explore at your own pace and often at a better price than traditional rental companies. Whether you are heading to the docks or setting off on a road trip, a campervan from a nearby host puts you right at the heart of the action.
Liverpool welcomes visitors year-round, with each season offering something special. The Liverpool International Music Festival in July fills the city with live performances across multiple stages, while the Liverpool Biennial, the UK's largest contemporary art festival, runs from June to September in even-numbered years. Summer is the most popular season for campervan travel, so booking your Yescapa hire early ensures the widest choice of vehicles from local owners. Spring and autumn bring comfortable driving conditions and quieter campsites around Merseyside. Winter sees the famous Liverpool Christmas markets light up the waterfront.
Liverpool is the perfect base for exploring the region by motorhome or campervan. Here are our 6 must-see getaways
Head 56 km east along the M62 to reach Manchester, a city packed with character. Visit the Science and Industry Museum and stroll through the Northern Quarter for independent shops and street art. Drive 75 km south-east to Chester, where the Roman city walls form a complete circuit you can walk. Explore Chester Rows, the medieval two-tiered shopping galleries, then continue into the Dee Valley to visit Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. Several campsites near Llangollen welcome motorhomes with full hook-ups.
Travel 130 km south-west to Snowdonia National Park for mountain scenery and lakeside walks. Ride the Snowdon Mountain Railway to the summit or hike the Miners' Track. Stop at Betws-y-Coed for supplies and visit Swallow Falls. Campervan-friendly campsites dot the valleys with spacious pitches and mountain views.
Head 160 km north to the Lake District, England's largest national park. Cruise on Lake Windermere, visit Beatrix Potter's Hill Top farmhouse, and walk the trails around Grasmere. The A590 offers smooth driving for motorhomes. Book pitches at campsites near Ambleside early during summer months for the best lakeside spots.

Liverpool and the surrounding Merseyside area offer a good range of campsites suited to both campervans and motorhomes. You will find sites with electric hook-ups, modern shower blocks, and waste disposal facilities within easy reach of the city centre. Several are located along the coast towards Southport and the Wirral Peninsula, giving you the option of a seaside base while still being close to Liverpool's attractions. Inland sites tend to offer larger pitches and quieter surroundings.
Liverpool has several options for parking larger vehicles, though it is worth planning ahead as city-centre spaces can be limited for motorhomes. The waterfront area near Albert Dock has pay-and-display car parks, but height barriers may restrict access for taller vehicles. For overnight stays, dedicated motorhome stopovers and campsites on the outskirts are the most reliable option. Always check signage for height and length restrictions before entering any multi-storey or barrier-controlled car park.
We had a great Motorhome Experience in the Dordogne area in France! Guy’s motorhome had everything we needed for a comfortable and adventurous stay. A great kingsize bed (for a motorhome anyway…) and large fridge, warm water, heating everything is there. If you’re looking for a reliable modern motorhome rental , we highly recommend renting Guy’s motorhome. Marian & Wim.
Excellent guests. We arranged everything quickly and smoothly, and communication was very easy. They returned the van in great condition, so we highly recommend them. 😊
Julie and her partner were absolutely wonderful guests. It was a pleasure to meet them. They were very friendly, respectful, and easy to communicate with throughout the rental. They returned the campervan in excellent condition, clean and well cared for. We would be very happy to welcome them again in the future and can highly recommend them to other owners. Thank you for choosing us, and we wish you many great adventures ahead!
Sofia and Joaqim were really lovely! We enjoyed our trip a lot. The van was clean and had everything that was listed. We had no troubles with anything, it was super easy, convenient and cosy place to stay. We can honestly recommend it. 🥰❤️
It was our first time traveling with a camper, and renting this one for our trip around Mallorca turned out to be an absolutely amazing and unforgettable experience that exceeded all our expectations. The camper was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Everything was well-maintained and thoughtfully equipped, which made our first camper trip easy and enjoyable. Communication with Gustavo was excellent from start to finish. He always responded very quickly, was friendly and helpful, and made the whole process smooth and stress-free. He also shared some fantastic recommendations for places to visit and park around the island, which made our trip even better. We couldn't have asked for a better first camper experience and would highly recommend both the camper and Gustavo to anyone planning a trip to Mallorca. We would happily rent it again in the future!
It was perfect. The owner is a very nice guy who picked us up from Funchal to get to Machico and explained everything about the car. The car included everything that was needed for our roadtrip. The tent is spacious and the amenities were of good quality. Overall it was an amazing experience to enjoy the island this way!
