Most motorways in Southern France are toll roads (autoroutes à péage). The A9 along the Mediterranean coast and the A7 heading south through the Rhône Valley both require toll payments, which can be made by card or cash at booths, or via a Liber-t electronic tag. Motorhomes and campervans over 3.5 tonnes are classified as Class 2 vehicles, meaning higher toll fees. Speed limits for vehicles under 3.5 tonnes are 130 km/h on motorways and 110 km/h on dual carriageways, while those over 3.5 tonnes must keep to 110 km/h and 100 km/h respectively. Rest areas with dedicated motorhome parking are well spaced along major routes, typically every 30 to 50 kilometres.

We had an amazing experience renting Francisco’s motorhome. We really enjoyed the entire trip — the motorhome was very comfortable, well equipped, and perfect for our journey. Having air conditioning was also a huge bonus, especially during the hot days, and it’s definitely not something you can take for granted with motorhomes of this type. Francisco and his team were always available whenever we had a question or needed help, and communication was excellent throughout the entire rental.
