Ana's Converted van

Ana was an amazing host! Her van is beautifully kitted out and has everything you could want for an adventure around Madeira! There was also everything you needed for your morning coffee and to cook a delicious dinner in the evening. 
The bed was really comfortable and the van was easy to drive. Ana has obviously put in a lot of effort into doing the van up.

Van life with Wanderlust Madeira has been a very intense experience! They did a really cute conversion, and it's not only beautiful but efficient too. Well insulated and comfortable. Everything works fine. You'll forget you are on four wheels while living in it!

The owner is cool and friendly and you can see her love for the van life in every detail. She's ready to help and suggest you everytime in case you need it.

Just one advice for you guys regarding driving a van in Madeira: don't underestimate it!

We had such an amazing time in Madeira with the camper van from Ana! The van was in perfect condition and we felt super safe. With Ana’s personal secret tips for Madeira we had the best experience. We had an amazing experience with Ana and her van! We rented for a week and saw pretty much the whole of Madeira in this time. Ana was very easy to communicate with, kind and reasonable. She was there over WhatsApp if we had any questions during the rental. She even gave us a lift back to Funchal with her family after we dropped the van back off with her.

The van itself is so nicely designed. It has everything you need, and in intuitive places, and is fine to drive despite Madeira's very hilly roads! The water system is easy to fill and empty if you need to. Overall we had a great time :) Highlights were starting the day in bed with a coffee and a view of the sea out of the back doors of the van at Seixal, and being able to stay up at Pico Ariero for the night so we could start the Pico to Pico hike before the crowds arrive and see the sunrise above the clouds.

Ana is a very nice an helpful person. She made a nice booklet with good recommendations for restaurants, places to see, overnight locations. We enjoyed the time with her campervan a lot. We had everything we need for 4 days. Although 4 days where definitely too short! Would love to come back another time.

Exactly one week we traveled through Madeira with Ana's self-built van. It was definitely the best idea to explore the island with a van. The van has everything you need, is well equipped, has a shower and toilet, you can stand up straight and there is plenty of space in the back for luggage. Ana was very friendly and helped us a lot in advance with lots of information and tips. She also has a book that she made herself with lots of tips for eating, sleeping and experiences. That was very very helpful. We would definitely recommend Ana and her van, everything was perfect.

I spend amazing 🤩 9 days and nights in the van. Thanks a million, Ana💕 

A little advice 😉: Drive it slowly - Enjoy the views! 

Super 1ère expérience en van ! Malgré l'inquiétude qu'on pourrait avoir quant aux routes de Madère, nous n'avons rencontré aucun problème à silloner l'île dans ce van super bien aménagé. Le van a su passer haut la main les quelques routes raides difficiles. Quel top de se trouver directement sur place avant que les autres touristes n'arrivent. Il y a beaucoup de parkings à disposition à travers l'île, ainsi que des sanitaires en bon état sur les plages.

Merci à Ana qui nous a donné des conseils et qui était à l'écoute en cas de besoin. Elle a été très accueillante, les constats ont été rapides et efficaces. Bons échanges pré- et post- location.

Une formidable expérience !! Le van est très propre et bien aménagé. Nous n'avons pas utilisé les toilettes ni la douche car nous avons préféré fonctionner avec les douches de plage et les toilettes publiques par habitude. Mais sinon, tous les équipements sont au rendez-vous ! Le van est une super solution pour profiter de Madère sans contrainte et dormir dans des lieux avec une vue spectaculaire. Seule la ville de Funchal nous a posé quelques difficultés pour se garer mais sinon nous sommes vraiment ravis et enchantés ! Le tout couronné par la gentillesse d'Ana, et son frère, très disponibles et attentionnés. Au top! 

Best way to travel around Madeira deciding where you want to spend the night on the way. Good vehicle conditions and easy communication with the owner. Totally recommended.

It was a wonderfull experience with the camper van. Ana was wonderful and easily accessible throughout the trip. The camper van was in top condition with everything needed, very clean and well thought out to every details.

Van conforme à la description. Propriétaire sympathique qui souhaite la satisfaction de ses locataires. Bonne formule confortable pour une découverte itinérante de l’île. Fourgon bien aménagé et bien équipé. Nous avons apprécié les douches à l’intérieur.

We rented the camping van for a 1-week roundtrip across Madeira. It was truly the best decision to discover the island - it is allowed to park and sleep almost anywhere, so you can wake up in the morning at the most beautiful places directly next to the beach or the mountains.

The self-built camping by Ana and her family is a real beauty - we got asked by a lot of other tourists where we got it from, and we can definetly recommend 100% to rent it from Ana. It has everything one needs including a shower and a toilet, even though we didn't have to use the toilet as there were a lot of public toilets on the island.

Communication before and during the trip with Ana was pleasent, she was always helpful and tried to help where she could. A wonderful suprise was a PDF she sent us on our first day of the trip with personal tips where to go to on the island, including some spots to spend the night with your camper. Really useful!

So if you feel adventorous and want a perfect holiday where you can combine mountains, beaches, rainforests, wonderful food (there are even enough vegan options if you check beforehand on https://www.happycow.net/ where to go) and perfect weather - then Madeira is the place to go, and the Camper Van of Ana is the vehicle you need to actually fulfil your adventure.

The van is well equipped and very confortable if you want to move around madeira. Ana was always available if we had any question. She gave us very useful advices regarding place to visit and spots to sleep. She and her brother are really nice, we would repeat for sure.
