Amazing experience! the van is amazing! Sandra and Rui are very attentive to details and even though it is not allowed to wild camp in Portugal anymore, it is still definitely the best way to travel if you want to focus on the coast and countryside.
There are enough infos about the van itself here in yescapa and in Sandra and Ruis website (v2camper.com) so all I can add is that this was our first experience with a Camper van and it was a very good one.
We rented it for one week and went all the way south to Algaver avoiding highways (the tolls are quite expensive in Portugal) which was a greate choice to discover small beaches and places in the way. We took 3 days to go down, spent there 3 days and came back (using highways) in the last day. I think 9 - 12 days would be better, but 7 was ok.
Can also recomend the park4night app to find places to top the van. It has a free version or paid (2 euros) with offline modus, which was very handy for us. In north portugal there are several free parking places for Vans where you are allowed to sleep, and in south the camping places cost arround 10-20 euros per night (van + 2 people).
