Aubin's Low profile RV

Well maintained, contemporary looking Dethleffs Advantage low profile camper. This vehicle suits perfectly adapted two friends, a couple, or a couple with a child. Rather compact for its category (6m86 long), it has nevertheless beautiful living spaces and a very large luggage compartment.

Used regularly in family (couple with a 7-year-old child), this low profile is reliable and very autonomous in terms of equipment, water and electrical supply.

The chassis. The Fiat Ducato 2.3 has nothing to prove anymore, it is so widespread. With its 6-speed gearbox, its 130 hp, its wide tracks and its "reasonable" length, the driving pleasure of this low profile is close to that of a van. The high driving position, the good visibility and the large rear-view mirrors make the driving serene despite the dimensions of the vehicle. The seats are particularly comfortable and equipped with armrests, a good point for long trips. It is equipped with all the options: ABS + ESP, cruise control, automatic air conditioning, car radio with a large screen and compatible with bluetooth + iPod / iPhone + auxiliary input. This screen is also used for the rear-view camera. The vehicle also has hill-start assist and "traction+" systems which simulates a limited slip differential and helps to get out of a tricky situation.

The interior is particularly neat and pleasing to the eye. It is also very bright thanks to its many windows and its large sky roof. Storage space is plentiful and well laid out (and there are 2 wardrobes). It is not a double floor, but all the windows are double glazed, and the insulation is excellent, which makes the vehicle usable even in winter (for this purpose, an electric heater is provided). And the floor is flat inside all the way, no steps! All the windows are equipped with blackout blinds (even in the cabin) which allows you to sleep in complete darkness or to increase the insulation against both cold and heat. All the windows are equipped with mosquito nets, including the entry door.

The lounge area comfortably accommodates 4 adults for an aperitif or a meal. The table is on a slide (front / back and left / right), to be ideally positioned in the middle of the 2 front seats that swivel, the L-shaped bench and the solo seat.

The kitchen has 3 burners, and modular worktops allowing you to really cook (we’re in France after all! :) ). Everything you need to cook for up to 4 people is provided (pots and pans, plates, bowls, cutlery, utensils, ...). The automatic triple energy fridge (12v, 230v and gas) will allow you to store everything you want in a cool place. It is also equipped with a freezer. An electric oven is provided (usable only if you are connected to the grid or with the generator).

For the beds, you will enjoy the twin beds at the back, independently reclining, with slatted bases and memory foam mattresses. They can be transformed with the help of an extension into a single giant bed of 2m x 2m. This bed allows 2 adults and 1 child to sleep in the greatest comfort. And I can certify it to you, as well as my wife and my 7 years old son ;-). It is also possible to use a dinette bed (to be "built" on the table in the front, it is not wonderful, but it can help). Bed linen (for 2, 3 or 4) are provided and new protective sheets are put in place for each rental.

The convertible bathroom allows to have a large shower, rare on a vehicle of these dimensions. This bathroom is completed by a classic sink with mixer tap, storage space and chemical toilet (a 2nd toilet cassette is provided for more autonomy). Household linen (for 2, 3 or 4) are put in place for each rental.

The clean water tank contains about 110 liters, which allows 2 adults to last between 3 and 5 days depending on your use. One or two 20 liters jerry cans with spout can be provided to increase the autonomy or to refill more easily (in a fountain or a stream if you cannot find a tap). Despite its regular maintenance, I do not recommend drinking the water from the tank. The clean water tank is frost-free since it is located inside the vehicle in the heated part. The grey water tank under the chassis is heated if necessary.

Concerning the electricity on board, with its 120 Ah lithium battery, its solar panel, and its generator (Honda 2kW, silent and very easy to use), you will have a virtually unlimited electrical autonomy.

The heating and hot water production are gas (propane), thanks to the very popular and renowned Truma Combi 6kW. The very intuitive control panel allows for easy adjustment. The heater is very powerful and warms up the interior in a few minutes even in cold weather. The 10 liters of hot water tank quickly renewed allows to link 2 showers. Two gas cylinders are provided, so that you always have a head start and a large autonomy.

The ascending bike rack that can accommodate 2 bikes (even electric) is attached to the rear of the vehicle. The advantage of this type of bike rack is that it is possible to lower the rails to a few dozen centimeters from the ground to attach the bikes before raising them. This makes the installation much easier, especially for heavier bikes.

Finally, for the accessories and equipment, note that this vehicle is regularly used by the family, and everything we need for our weekends and vacations stays inside. So, you will find all the necessary and welcome utensils and accessories for your vacations!

-          Inside, a TV with automatic satellite antenna, USB plugs to charge your phone and tablets, a 230v inverter for your laptop or other, an electric oven, an electric heater, a fan, everything you need to cook (really), cleaning supplies (products, cloths, and vacuum cleaner) and even unlimited wifi (subject to coverage).

-          In the luggage compartment, in addition to the usual water hoses, extension cords, adapters and wheel chocks, you'll find -just like that- 3 chairs, a large table, a tool kit and accessories to get you out of a bad situation, one or two 20L water jerry cans, a solar pressure shower (super practical!), a BBQ (which works with the on board gas), a spare toilet cassette...
