Hello future Vanlifers!!
We are Lara & Smail, two travel lovers who have decided to go on the ultimate adventure of converting by hand our Ford transit high top van into a tiny home on wheels for everyone to enjoy. We have put a lot of emphasis in the use of recycled materials, which we believe gives our van a unique and quirky , imperfectly perfect look! There is so much waste in this world, and by upcycling pallets, antique furniture and unloved items, we are giving them a second chance in our handmade little home.
We first experienced the freedom of vanlife whilst living in Australia . Living on the road comes with its challenges. Its a smaller space than what you are used to in a conventional home or Airbnb , but waking up to exquisite views and an ever changing scenery is honestly pricessless. We would love to share that lifestyle with anyone interested, solo travelers, family, friends, couples, pets and all! We would both be delighted to explain the ins and outs of travelling in a van or any advice for your trip , and will only be a phone call away!
ABOUT OUR LITTLE HOME ON WHEELS
Its a Ford transit L2H2 high top van and has all the equipments necessary for an amazing experience on the road, with all the comfort of a house!
We have decided to equip our kitchen with a 93L domestic fridge, including a small freezer section, which allows you to keep a lot of food and drinks nice and cold even on the hottest months of the year. Since we love to cook, we have decided to go for a large counter top and a fixed double gas stove, with a powerful extractor fan, to make cooking as comftorble as posible in a small space. There is also a sink with hot water to help with washing dishes, plates, pans and pots which are all provided. There is also a lot of room for storage below the countertop as well as above it, for you to be able to pack for a week off road adventure. Salt, pepper, sugar, tea and coffee and other essentials will be provided. We’ve also included a composting bin, which we feel is a nice little touch:)
- SHOWER & TOILET
In our build, we have installed a separated shower and toilet. Whilst it is a small space, having the intimacy of a closed off section is appreciated. We have also incorporated a skylight for light and ventilation.
The shower is fed by a 83L tank as well as a 9L hot water boiler, so you’ll have the comfort of a nice hot shower even in winter. For your convenience, we will supply biodegradable soap and shampoo, which will facilitate the disposal of grey water residue.
We have incorporated a dry composting toilet with a urine separator to avoid bad smells and decrease water consumption which vital in a van. If you are new to the camper van world, cleaning out chemical toilets is not a pretty scene, whereas a dry toilet, in our experience, is cleaner and less of a hassle.
We have also installed an outdoor hose at the back of the van running only on cold water, for cleaning off your feet after a day at the beach or to give you pet a refreshing shower.
-BED & LIVING ROOM
This space is a convertible bed which turns into the living area. The bed is a large 183x140 mattress and can comfortably sleep 2 adults and a child. We have also installed a projector, since we all know, even on holidays, it’s nice to just Netflix & Chill. For those who are more into reading, there is two individual reading lamps with USB ports installed above the headboard .
The bed turns into two sofas and a large spinning table. It might take you a few minutes to get the hang of it and it’s easier to convert the table into the bed with two people, but perfectly doable by yourself. We have previously built a van with a fixed bed, but we felt that having the versatility of a large living area as well as a large bed, is the best of both worlds, even if takes you a few minutes to set it up, this is part of the vanlife experience.
This area can be accessed from the kitchen as well as from the back of the van. There is storage both above the bed and below to store all your belongings.
We have incorporated a skylight above the bed to help with ventilation. Even though there is no air conditioning , installing 3 skylights allows for a refreshing breeze to cool you off in summer months .
If you are planning a winter getaway, there is nothing worse that a freezing cold van. This is why we have invested into a 2kW diesel heater, which will keep the cabin warm and cosy for your winter stay.
We have a fully decked out electric system , a 100ah lithium battery which can be powered by our roof top solar as well as whilst driving, thanks to an alternator. It might not seem like a big deal, but having a booster ( alternator ) which allows you to charge the battery whilst in motion allows you not to be weather dependant on the amount of solar energy you get 😊
There Are several regular USB ports within the van as well as two type C USB ports by the sliding door. We have also installed two household 220v plugs which will allow you to charge your laptop or other low wattage electronic equipments.
For you to enjoy the experience to the fullest, we will also provide three camping chairs, and outdoor table as well as a portable gas stove so you can also get the opportunity to cook in nature if you prefer. We are a pet friendly van and if you would like to bring your four legged friend with you, please inform us and we will happily accomodate the van for him/her aswell.
We are located in Castellon de la Plana, but we can arrange a pick up and drop off from Valencia free of charge if that would suit you better, just let us know!
If you come with your car to Castellon, you can park it free of charge in an enclosed carpark with onsite surveillance.
Please don't hesitate to message us with any questions our queries ! We are here to help 😊
Located in front of the vehicle, it is best suited to children or as a temporary bed. It is usually made up by lowering the dining table.
