David's Converted van

‘A Beautiful Escape’ is my newly converted luxury Toyota Alphard pop-top camper. The van is automatic, and unlike campervans such as VW’s, engine noise is at a whisper and the ride is VERY smooth - no low gear jitters here. Please note the price displayed includes fully comprehensive insurance and breakdown. 

The camper has automatic side sliding doors and tailgate, electric windows, air conditioning front and back, driver and front passenger armrests, drinks holders all around the vehicle, sunglasses holder, steering wheel audio controls, smartphone holder, bluetooth, audio line-in and a reversing camera. 

The front passenger seat swivels round, facing the back seats. At 4.8 length and 1.8 width, the van is shorter than a 5 series BMW - perfect if this is your first time driving a camper!

At an 'unpopped' height of just 2 metres, you’ll be able to enter carparks and spaces that tall vans can’t. It still packs a 122cm width double bed which is larger than most camper convertible doubles. It includes an Apple Airplay / Android Auto system which is also wired to work when you're stationary.

Alongside that is a compressor fridge, solar power, x2 ring gas cooker, sink, 12L fresh water tank, x2 240v plugs, x2 12v plugs, x2 USB sockets to recharge your phone directly from the van, plus underbed storage, and side panel storage. The vehicle is completed with fitted curtains, front windscreen blackout throw, as well as thermal window blinds for the middle and back of the vehicle. 

The beauty of the vehicle is because of the solar panel and the compressor-type fridge you won’t ever run out of power and no need to ‘plug in’ to 240v unless you want to play playstation on a TV in the van! Perfect for wild camping or pitching on non-electric pitches which means you save money and have more choice on pitch location. 

The van can be paired with the top of the range Vango Galli iii drive-away air awning which connects directly to the side of the van - you can TRIPLE your living space and drive away for the day for an explore, then come back to to your standing tent and connect to the van. The awning comes with an additional groundsheet, carpet and sleeping pod.

If you’re planning a shorter trip - the organe vango slide in awning is perfect for sun & rain protection, creating an outside living area. 

‘A Beautiful Escape’ has been converted by the renowned North Star Conversions on the Isle of Wight and has been tested for mechanical, and electrical safety, and carries a Gas safe certificate.

So now you know about the van - what else is there to think about? Well, I spent the first half of 2020 in a camper, travelling around Europe (yes, during the Covid outbreak) and I’ve now got a fair idea of what creature comforts are worth taking. So to make your life easier, the following comes as standard.
