Maria João's Camper

We travelled for 4 days in Clementina from Costa de Caprica to Lago and back.

Clementina has an amazing personality, she is fun to drive, very comfortable and will take you anywhere you wish to go, so long as you are not in a rush.
We recommend you wind the windows down, find some nice coastal roads and enjoy the beautiful Portugese countryside in style!
With Clementina you will be the most beautiful van in the parking spot, and other vans will toot their horns and flash their lights in appreciation and respect for such a marvelous vehicle.

Maria and Markus are great owners, with a very thorough initiation and great communication. Once you book Clemintina they will send you a document which they have meticulously prepared filled with great recommendations, where to drive, sleep and eat. 
We really enjoyed our trip in Clementina and would not hesitate to recommend you do the same :)

It was a great experience! Maria was very heplful and available all the time, and the van was clean. The color of Clementine is beautiful and easy to spot. The driving was a little difficult but for experienced driver it should not be a problem at all. 

What we experienced with Clementina was amaizing. It was a first "van" experience for us, and everything was made to ensure the perfect holidays :

- All you need to be as confortable as possible is there

- The van is in good shape (and it is pretty funny to drive)

- The double size bed and the small kitchen are clearly a +

What a great trip!! We were travelling with la Clementina around west/south Portugal and we strongly recommend it!

Let's start by the hosts since they were amazing! Maria and Markus were helpfull, available for us and honest. They gave us many recommandations before with a very complete email, follow their advices you won't regret it. We had the first day a little mechanic issue with the van : Maria directly came on site and made some calls to find a mechanic even though it was lunch hour. She managed to find the piece make it change, in about 4 hours we were back on the road. She reimbursed us a full day because of this issue + she paid us a dinner. So nice from them! Also she was very sympathic and helped us on the way back to go to the airport + with the covid test. We were not expecting that much, thank you again Maria! 

About the van, la Clementina is an old lady full of charm! We loved to travel with her. The inside is very confortable and spacious, more than others van experiences we had. This old lady is not the fastest but it adds to your van trip an interesting dimension where you enjoy more the journey, driving slow and looking at the landscapes. The inside is very complete, everything is here to cook, shower and sleep. It's very well thought and we didn't miss anything.

Finally Maria was very honest with the deposit since we did a little scratch on the van. She took a very fair amount from the deposit to proceed to the repainting. You can trust that they will try to find a cheap option if you damage the van anyhow.

About portugal, maybe you are worrying about the new van regulation that forbid wild camping. We still had very nice moments and always found cool 'legal' places to sleep thanks to apps like Park4night. We would have prefer to sleep into the wild but it also worked well that way.

We had a really nice trip! The van had everything we needed. Maria and Markus are really helpful and friendly. We definitely recommend this van!

Our trip with Clementina was really great!! We spent our days at the coast and had wonderful autumn sunshine. This was a great experience. Our host Maria and Markus were very lovely and even helped to organize our trip and explained us everything. The van is extremely clean and tidy! It has was absolutely everything you need, with every detail you can think of. The van is super spacious but not too big when you drive and park. The bed is super comfy and big and still you have a lot of space to sit or eat or cook or play games. We loved their outdoor shower, it's like a shower at home. We look forward to go back and take Clementina again, we miss our little cozy home so much already!

Abbiamo affittato Clementina per una settimana circa e tutto quanto ha soddisfatto le nostre aspettative.

Maria e Markus due persone squisite sempre disponibili in tutto e prontissime ad aiutarti in qualunque ora del giorno.

Il van è pulitissimo, dispone di tutti gli attrezzi per cucinare, doccia, acqua, non manca proprio nulla per vivere un'esperienza indimenticabile.

Consiglio a tutti almeno una volta nella vita di fare un'esperienza in van e Clementina è proprio quella giusta.

We had a great time travelling with Clementina! The van provides all necessities for a nice trip in Portugal. Especially the small gadgets (e.g. own shower, beach umbrella) made the van life extrem comfortable and cosy. We loved the charme and flair of Clementina and can recommend this trip for everyone interested in seeing the landscape of portugal on the country roads. If you want to get very fast from one part of Portugal to another you have to keep in mind that Clementina is not the youngest van on earth.

During our trip we had no technical issues. The van is perfect in shape and fun to drive. A few meters on the road and you are used to Clementina.

The owners are very kind and friendly. They showed us everything at the beginning and in an additional document you’ll find all details explained. They gave us a lot of useful information for our trip and where we should go. They were available for our questions at all times and we had the feeling that they wanted us to have the best possible trip with Clementina.

Me and laura had an amazing trip with clementine!! portugal is amazing and the best way to explore it is by van, with our orange friend we travelled all the algarve and west coast and we had no problems! at the beginning it feels weird to drive, but after a few kilometers you will enjoy the feeling. inside is really beautiful, mark and Maria had a nice taste!! the bed is comfortable and you have basicly everything you need to cook and store your luggages. we really recommand you clementine if you are looking for a roadtrip by van and you want also an old style experience!!

This was a perfect 8-day with Clementina to enjoy Portugal amazing landscapes. Maria & Markus were perfect guides helping us to prepare the road trip and handle our first vanlife experience. Very good equipment and very comfortable nights :).

Nuestro viaje con Clementina ha superado nuestras expectativas. Desde el primer momento el trato con María y Markus ha sido excelente muy atentos en todo momento. Clementina está perfectamente equipada con todo lo necesario para la estancia, es muy acojedora y muy confortable. En nuestro caso no tuvimos que hacer uso de camping ningún día dado que con la ducha de Clementina teníamos suficiente, la cocina funciona muy bien y las puestas de sol con la mesita y las sillas han sido de película. En cuanto a la conducción, el primer día hay que adaptarse, pero se trata de carreteras muy tranquilas en las que no necesitas velocidad para ir de playa en playa. La zona de Alentejo y Costa VIcentina muy bien preparada para viajar en van. Estamos seguros que repetiremos la experiencia con Clementenina. 

We wanted to try this experience with our son (4 year old), the first time for him. We tried in the past this exepience with a T2 and a Camper and we enjoyed (we like more an a "wild" experience so for us the T2 was better).

With Maria João e Markus everything was amazing!

Clementina (the van) was customized all by them and with very good taste. 
You can find in everything you need (spry, everything for the kitchen (Gas Kitchen with 3 fires) and to cook, salt, pepper, a big selection of tea, cups and more and more..., toilet paper...) and a surprise! Some table games to play all toghether!

There are water cans to have showers with no problem and there are an electric showerhead and another one you can put outside during the day to make it warm by the sun’s rays to have an hot shower too! Maria João e Markus give shower gel and shampoo, available in Clementina!

We finded everything! Clean towels, sheets and soft pillows! The bed it's very comfortable and we slept in 3 very well!

The van have another battery, with solar panel, very powerful when you can charge PC, tablet and phones without problem (we worked with 2 PC...) and there is avaible 4 power sockets!

There is lot of space (you have at your disposal a camping table and 3 chairs). One day was very windy and we ate inside (in 3) very comfortably, with the table inside the van.

Clementina it's very romantic too! Are lot of little lights to create a good atmosphere and it's perfect to have relax (Maria João e Markus also provide many books).

The van was prefectly clean! 
Our son spilled some water on the floor and we drying with a paper cloth and the cloth was perfectly white! 
Besides the van shone and everything, including towels, was super clean and scented!

Was the best experience we had, the perfect dimensions (not so small like a T2 and not so big like a Camper...! And with all comfort!) and everything was really great!

We will come back with Clementina for another trip early!

Maria and Marcus were great. We used Clementina to drive down the coast over ten days. There's everything you need, even electricity to charge your phones and small devices. A cooler and gas stove are installed inside the van for meals and table and chairs are provided! We had a great time and were happy to meet such nice people!

We highly reccomend Clementina, we had a superb holiday!

We had an amazing trip with Clementina (name of the bus). The bus is very spacious for two people and Maria & Markus put a lot of love in the interior of it. The bus is very well equiped with everything you need on a journey. Even though Celemtina is quite old the motor runs perfectly well and it was a lot of fun to drive. 100% recommended!

We had a great trip with Clementina. The vehicle had everything we need to spend some a few days in the beautiful Portuguese nature and coastline.  Although the van has the look and feel of a more old-school van, which resulted in daily positive reactions of other drivers on the road, the vehicle has all necessary (modern) equipment. The assistance by Maria has been warm and helpful as well from beginning to end. When we had questions on the working of the vehicle or experienced trouble with the van, she was available to help us out. We wWould highly recommend to everyone and  would be glad to take Clementina for a ride again whenever possible in the future.

Having Clementina for our Trip through Portugal was fantastic. She had anything we needed and was our perfect little home for our holiday. 
Maria is a very kind, organised and responsible person. We got great tips from her.
We are definetely coming back one day and then we would like to rent Clementina again. 

A nossa viagem com a Clementina - ... perdão!!... com o Clementão!!! :) - correu super bem! A Maria João é altamente atenciosa e preocupada com todo o bem estar dos hóspedes ! E sempre disponível ! O Clementão está equipado com TUDO aquilo que é necessário para uma ótima estadia! Cadeiras, mesa, água, fogão, TODOS os produtos de higiene e limpeza... tudo mesmo. 

O Clementão, sendo uma máquina de guerra dos anos 80, brinda-nos com um formidável roncar de motor que nos alegra toda a viagem. Equipado com rádio permite irmos a curtir a viagem inteira. A cama é super confortável. Recomendamos apenas que as cortinas sejam substituidas por uns black outs para descansar mais um pouco pela manhã. Truque: levar uma venda para os olhos! 

Fomos de Cacilhas a Sines e a viagem foi 5*.
